One of the greatest privileges of running the School of Wine is sharing unforgettable bottles with such a passionate and enthusiastic community.

Events like our Old & Rare tasting at Urban Winery are made truly special because of the people in the room. Your curiosity, great questions, willingness to learn and genuine appreciation for exceptional wine are what make these evenings so memorable.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for another incredible night. We hope you enjoyed the wines as much as we enjoyed sharing them with you.

Here are a few photos from the evening. We look forward to raising another glass with you all again soon! 🍷

One of the great joys of wine is finding those simple combinations that remind you why you fell in love with it in the first place.

I recently stopped into Brighton Wine Bar in Scarborough and enjoyed wonderful food and absolutely beautiful oysters paired with a glass (or two) of wine.

A big shout out to the team at one of Perth's best casual wine experiences. If you're looking for a spot to unwind by the coast with a great wine list and some seriously good food, make sure you pay them a visit. Who knows maybe one day we will host an event here!!

Also, this is not a paid partnership; it was just a wonderful experience with my family.

I’m not sure what was more fun - meeting an legend or drinking through some of the best and in France 🇫🇷

Of the Meursault the .jobard just had it all - creamy lemon, matchstick, and hazelnut. All were amazing but that stole the show.

The Pinots moved from the elegance of the of Santenay to the full throttle power of Pommard and Gevrey.

The sweet spot for me was the Volnay 1er Cru Fremiet. From a vineyard closer to Pommard, it’s got a bit more clay in the soil so just a bit more black fruits and body than further south. It was perfect.

The last wine was the strangest champagne I’ve ever had. has been made since the 13th century as a way of preserving fruit juice. Made from Grand Cru Pinot, one day on skins and no fermentation. Immediately fortified and then aged 24 months in barrel. Tasting notes are fuzzy it remember really enjoying

Great wine, great food and even better company 🍷✨

In March we were out at Coogee Live event running wine pairings and showing how the right match can completely transform your palette.

Huge thanks to the team for having us along for such an awesome event. Thankyou to all that came to enjoy the experience. We hope to see you all again next year or at one of our upcoming events.

“Locate a Latour” was the challenge among 20 of the greatest Cabernets on the planet.

The Latour was simply electric, crushed rocks, violets, graphite, wild game and black currant with insane length and structure. Only one person picked it correctly on the night.

The crowd favourite ended up being the 2018 Opus One, followed by the 2015 707 and 2015 John Riddoch. The was ridiculous, balsamic, olive, smoke, ash and polished tannins with perfect grip.

WA also showed brilliantly, with leading the charge and a few Great Southern wines fooling people into thinking they were old world.

An unbelievable night of wine. 🍷

Celebrating the end of an 8 week level 2 course at the amazing with this drop dead gorgeous wine from

The 2023 is off the charts good. Ripe peaches, salted nuts, grilled nuts, praline, nougat, Greek yogurt, Meyer lemon. The more it’s open the more intense it gets

Subtle hum of acidity that goes for ages and a slight phenolic grip which I don’t get in many Chardonnays. I was told it’s from a bit of whole bunch in amphora. It gave the wine a bit of structure to complement the fruit and secondary.

Amazing

Absolutely sensational night at hosting an Old and Rare featuring some top quality

The was maybe the most interesting and compelling I’ve ever had. And pretty much stole the show for the entire night.

However the from and Burgundy were both off the charts

Bordeaux’s left and right bank were both strong showers. Couldn’t believe the tension and militarily of the 2013. Decades ahead in this wine.

Lastly a 36 year old looked fresh with vibrant acidity and nutty, honied nuts. Just a cracking night

The Greatest Cabernet Tasting Ever Episode 5: The Finale 🇫🇷🍷

We finish in France.

Featuring the centre piece the Château Latour. With some other serious French regions, this is the one everyone was waiting for.

We may have missed a few… so tell us in the comments. What else should be have placed in the lineup?
