The Claddagh Association is based in Western Australia and our mission is to support Irish people during times of crisis here in W.A. We are a small team of volunteers who hold fulltime jobs outside of our work with Claddagh. With the Support of the Emigrant Support Program in Ireland we have just employed our first employee who will manage the administration functions within Claddagh leaving the committee to continue their community role.
Our work in the community includes support during serious illness, accidents, detention, seniors project, deaths and repatriation. In the past 12 months we have provided assistance to over 160 people in WA. We rely on our fundraising and the donations from the broader Irish Community to provide this much needed support.
As reported by many media outlets there has been a number of deaths of Irish people in WA in recent weeks and the outpouring of support via social media is a credit to the nature of Irish people. If people want to ‘do something’ or ‘contribute’ to their fellow Irish person then you may like to consider a donation to the Claddagh Association. Donations may be made via our website www.claddagh.org.au and all donations over $2 are tax deductible as we hold Gift Recipient Status.
We need your support so we can continue to provide support to the Irish Community.
