👻 Looking for a frightfully good Halloween treat? has you covered with this delicious spooky cookie recipe made using Black & Gold favourites and other ingredients picked up at her local IGA. Recipe below 🍪👇
INGREDIENTS
🎃 170g butter, softened
🎃 ½ cup white sugar
🎃 ¾ cup brown sugar
🎃 1 egg
🎃 1 tsp vanilla essence
🎃 2¼ cups plain flour
🎃 1 tsp baking soda
🎃 1 cup choc chips
Extras:
🎃 100g chocolate, melted
🎃 White Marshmallows
🎃 Maltesers or mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
🎃 Decorative edible eyes
Method:
🎃 Using an electric mixer, beat the softened butter and sugars together until well combined and light in colour.
🎃 Add the egg and vanilla essence and beat again until combined.
🎃 Add the flour and baking soda and mix gently with a spatula. Once it starts to come together, use your hands to form a dough.
🎃 Add the choc chips and mix them through the dough with your hands until evenly distributed.
🎃 Roll the dough into balls, place them onto a lined baking tray and slightly flatten.
🎃 Bake at 180°C for 13–15 minutes.
🎃 Allow the cookies to cool slightly before decorating.
To make the spider webs and spiders:
🎃 Place the marshmallows in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for approximately 30 seconds, then stir.
🎃 Using your fingers, gently pull the sticky melted marshmallow apart and stretch it over the top of each cookie to create a spider web. This part is really fun!
🎃 Use either a Malteser or mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup for the spider’s body.
🎃 Melt the chocolate and place it into a Ziploc bag. Snip a tiny corner off and pipe on the spider legs, then use a little melted chocolate to stick on the edible eyes.
