Our peacocks are officially entering the breeding season with their full tails now grown out. 💙🦚 💚

Each morning, our entire flock of around 30 peafowl can be found perched up high, soaking up the morning sun and drying off after a night covered in dew.

It’s quite the spectacular sight — 30 birds, the males with their impressive tails, and plenty of proud peacock attitude. 🦚✨

We’re thrilled to announce that The Llama Farm is officially a finalist in the 2026 Ipswich Business Excellence Awards in the Tourism & Hospitality category as one of three local businesses in the running.

We’ve been a finalist in this category before, but we’ve never managed to take home the trophy. So you can imagine how much we’d love to change that result this year. It will be a very proud moment for us indeed. 🏆

The winner will be announced at the Awards Gala Night on Saturday, 10 October at the Events Centre, Ipswich Showgrounds.

For our small, family farm, this would be a huge achievement. We pour an enormous amount of time, energy and love into what we do, and we’re incredibly proud of the role The Llama Farm plays in bringing visitors to Ipswich and showcasing our beautiful city as a tourism destination.

So… fingers, toes, hooves and llama ears crossed for a win! 🦙🤞

We’re keeping everything crossed that our beautiful geese, Gus and Georgie, might become parents this spring. They are very much in love, and it would be so wonderful to see them raise a little family of their own. 🥰

Their story makes it even more special. Georgie came to us after a member of the public found her hiding underneath their car in suburban Ipswich. Gus, meanwhile, was given to us by friends who wanted him to have a companion after he had been rejected by his flock and was living on his own.

That was more than a year ago, and the two have been inseparable ever since. ❤️

Both birds have absolutely blossomed here at the farm and are looking fabulous. Now we’re hoping their love story takes the next step with goslings. 🐣

Fingers crossed for a fertile clutch of eggs and, hopefully, the pitter-patter of little webbed feet later this year. 🥚🪿💕🤞
