The Llama Farm We are Queensland’s largest working llama stud and are located in picturesque Pine Mountain on the beautiful banks of the Brisbane River in Ipswich.

All visits are booked via our website for guided tours at set times. General admissions are not permitted.

🤍🖤 12 years of hugging Marilyn. 🖤🤍 She still loves a cuddle with her ‘Dad’. Marilyn was hand-raised by Shane after a traumatic start to life and they share a special bond because of it. She got her name from the black ‘beauty spot’ on her face just like Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn is Shane’s favourite llama on the farm - but don’t tell the other llamas that! 🥰🦙

💜 It’s that beautiful time of year again when the Jacarandas are bursting into bloom and adding gorgeous splashes of purple around the city. 💜

It’s such a lovely sight, although this rain certainly isn’t doing them any favours! 🌧️ The flowers have barely had a chance to bloom before they’re being knocked to the ground, leaving those beautiful purple carpets beneath the trees a little earlier than we’d like. 🌳

Typical timing! 🙄 We desperately need the rain but hopefully we’ll still get to enjoy plenty more of their stunning colour before the season is over. 💜

🫏💙 IT’S A BOY! 💙🫏

We woke up to a beautiful surprise this morning. Doris gave birth overnight to a healthy little white donkey foal, just like his big brother Dougie. 🥰

Of all the days to decide to give birth, Doris chose a rainy night. 🌧️ After such a long dry spell, we certainly weren’t complaining about the rain, although her timing could have been a little better! 🙄

Naturally, both Doris and her foal were rather wet when we found them at sunrise. Our little fellow has since been towelled off and is now drying out in the comfort of a stable, with mum keeping a watchful eye. 👀

This little boy is extra special as he is the last foal for proud dad Dudley, who has since been gelded. ✂️

Mum and baby are both doing well, and we couldn’t be happier to finally meet this baby after such a long and anticipated wait! 🫏

Now, we just need to find this gorgeous little fellow a name beginning with D! 💙

How gorgeous is this little splash of green and gold? 💚 💛 Meet the Dainty Green Tree Frog (Litoria gracilenta), also known as the Graceful Tree Frog. 🐸

These beautiful little frogs have a clever way of conserving moisture. When sleeping or resting during the day, they tuck their tiny limbs tightly against their bodies to minimise water loss. 💦

You can recognise this species by its smooth, lime-green back, distinctive yellow stripe running from its snout over its eyes, and those stunning golden-yellow eyes. 💛 👀

It’s amazing how much beauty and clever design nature packs into such a tiny creature. 💚🐸 🥰 it is just another reminder of the wonderful wildlife we share our farm with. 🦙

Here’s something a little different from us. We normally share the antics of our four-legged friends, but today we’re sharing something equally delightful from our garden. 🌸🦋🐝

Our beautiful Buddleja, also known as the Butterfly Bush, is bursting into flower, and what a gorgeous sight it is! 😍🌸💜

This flowering shrub produces spectacular clusters of tiny blossoms with a subtle, sweet, honey-like perfume that drifts gently through the garden.

It’s also a magnet for bees and butterflies, which adore its nectar-rich flowers. 🦋💜🐝

If you have a sunny spot in your garden, consider planting a Buddleja for its beauty, delicate fragrance and ability to attract pollinators. 🌸🌿

Sometimes it’s the simple pleasures around the farm that bring the greatest joy. 😊

Our ‘high-rise hen’ has officially become a mum! After patiently sitting on her clutch of seven eggs for 21 days, we’re delighted to report a 100% success rate, all seven chicks have hatched! 🐣🐣🐣🐣🐣🐣🐣

For those who missed the story, this determined little hen decided that ground-level nesting simply wasn’t for her. Instead, she chose the crown of a statue, high above the ground outside our souvenir shop, as the perfect place to lay her clutch. Talk about a nest with a view! 😂 🪺

Mum and her seven fluffy little chicks have now been safely relocated to a snake-proof enclosure, where she can raise her brood without any unwanted visitors. 🐍

From high-rise living to a secure family home, what a wonderful success story for this determined and innovative hen. 🐔💕🐥🐥🐥🐥🐥🐥🐥

What an incredible honour to be named the Tourism & Hospitality Award winner at the Ipswich Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards on Saturday night. 🏆

For us, this award represents so much more than recognition. It reflects years of hard work, dedication, passion and a determination to showcase our farm as a unique tourism destination in Ipswich.

Ipswich isn’t always the first place that comes to mind when people think of tourism, let alone agritourism. We’ve worked tirelessly to help change that perception, sharing our beautiful corner of the world, our animals and the wonderful experiences that farm life has to offer to tour guests. 🦙

To receive this recognition is incredibly rewarding, but what has been even more humbling is the overwhelming response from our community, visitors, friends and supporters. Your beautiful messages of congratulations and genuine excitement for our achievement have meant more to us than you could possibly imagine. ❤️

It’s truly humbling to realise the impact our little farm has had on so many people over the years. Knowing that we’ve created lasting memories, brought joy to families and visitors, and given Ipswich a tourism destination that locals can proudly recommend and showcase is something we will always treasure. 🥰

Rex rabbits are a little different from your average bunny and it’s all in the fur! Their unique coat is incredibly short, dense and velvety because the guard hairs are roughly the same length as the undercoat. The result? A rabbit that feels more like plush velvet rather than fur. 🐇🤍🐇

They’re also known for their curious, gentle and friendly personalities, making them wonderful animals for our farm guests to meet. 🥰

If you’ve ever had the chance to pat a Rex rabbit, you’ll know exactly what we mean as that beautiful velvet coat is something you don’t easily forget! 🐇🥰

We love our Rex rabbits. They feel like a K Mart blanket and are soooo soft. ❤️
