You guessed it! 🇨🇭🐑

After a very long wait, this weekend we will finally be welcoming not one, but TWO beautiful Valais Blacknose Sheep wethers all the way from Victoria to The Llama Farm! 🐑🐑

Often described as one of the most beautiful sheep breeds in the world, these striking Swiss sheep are famous for their fluffy, curly, white wool, distinctive black faces, black knees and hocks, and their incredibly friendly, gentle nature. Originating in the mountains of Switzerland, they look like they’ve stepped straight out of a storybook. 🏔️🇨🇭🐑

We can’t wait to introduce our newest farm residents to you. 🐑🖤🤍🐑

Buddy’s favourite part of the day (apart from feeding time, of course 🍼) is exploring the garden between feeds. 🌿🦙

This little guy is full of energy and curiosity. One minute he’s investigating every flower, leaf and pot plant he can find, and the next he’s running around like an elite athlete. 🏃🏻🪴 🥰

At just 12 days old, Buddy is growing in confidence every day and loves his exercise sessions in the garden. It’s hard to get anything done inside or outside when you have a tiny llama supervisor keeping a close eye on everything! 👀

🇨🇭 A Swiss invasion is coming to The Llama Farm…🇨🇭

No, we haven’t started making chocolate. 🍫 Nor are we opening a watch repair shop ⌚️ or started making cheese. 🧀 But something very special is on its way from the mountains of Switzerland, and we couldn’t be more excited! 🏔️

These fluffy newcomers are famous around the world for their striking looks, adorable faces, and ability to make people instantly fall in love with them. 🥰
We’ve been keeping this announcement under wraps for a little while, but the countdown is now officially on. ⏱️

Can you guess what Swiss visitors will soon be calling The Llama Farm home? 🤔
Drop your guesses in the comments and see if you can crack the mystery before the big reveal!🇨🇭🐑❓👇🏻

Buddy has certainly made himself quite at home! 🏠🦙🥰

Now 9 days old, our little paddock surprise has decided that life indoors is far more appealing than being out in the cold with the rest of the llama herd. Between his warm bed, regular bottles, and plenty of attention, he’s settling into the good life very quickly.

While we’re happy that Buddy is thriving and feeling safe, we do have one small problem… we don’t actually need a house llama! 😂

For now, we’ll continue spoiling our little bottle-fed boy while gently reminding him that one day he is supposed to be a paddock llama, not a lounge room llama.🍼🦙🛋️

Tabatha and Flicka are on holidays with us for ‘special cuddles’ with our Australian Teamster jack, Dominic. They have been running with him for a few months now along with our 3 Teamster jennies, Daphne, Delores and Dakota. Hopefully, all five girls are now in foal to him and should be due around Easter 2027. Three of the 5 girls are maidens, so we are keeping our fingers and toes crossed for trouble-free births and healthy foals next year. If you didn’t already know, baby donkeys are simply divine! 🥰🫏🍼

Same, same, but different. 🤍🦚💙

Our little paddock surprise now has a name… meet Buddy! 🦙🍼🧝

When this mysterious little cria unexpectedly arrived and found himself needing us as human parents, we started calling him Little Buddy while we searched for the perfect name.

At first, we thought we’d find something inspired by his unexpected appearance in the herd but we couldn’t overlook his very unusual ears, which have a distinctly pixie or elf-like appearance. Then it clicked, Buddy is the name of the main character in the movie Elf! The name seemed too perfect for our little guy, with his quirky elf ears and larger-than-life personality.

So Buddy it is.🦙🥰

He now follows us everywhere, convinced that his human bottle-feeders are his herd. While we still don’t know exactly who his mum and dad are, one thing is certain, Buddy has already made himself right at home and firmly in the hearts of those who meet him. 🦙❤️

We had a spectacular rainbow over the farm on Saturday arvo. You can just faintly make out the double arc that only lasted for a short time, in this photo. The misty showers were unexpected and caused us to postpone our sunset guided llama walk after it had already started. This was the first time in 6 years that we had to do this on a commenced llama walk. Our guests were very understanding and happy to let nature take its course. 🌈🦙🌦️
