We are now very much enjoying the benefits of the stock water tank monitoring device we installed not so long ago on the bore water tank at the top of the farm. Here's a screen print from one of our smart phones taken earlier this morning. When looking at the graph ... the vertical axis is "water depth" (in the tank) and the horizontal axis is "time". We tend to turn the pump on when the capacity falls to 78% or less.

We were very pleased to get the main mob of sheep (a catching pen-full is in the photo) all crutched prior to last night's 26 mm of rainfall. What was unusual was the noise at the end of the day when we merged the ewes back with the lambs. The volume and nature of the sound was something akin to a jet engine at full belt.

A 20 minute informative reel from an EU perspective on cattle production and export. Key stat for us was that 95% of USA beef production involves the use of growth hormones (not something we'd consider here at all.).

Quite the year for Marshmallows in the stock yards. We put a small mob of ewe lambs to work in the sheep yards today to take the bulk out ... in the lead-up for lamb marking in the next week or two.
