Pinnaroo is fortunate to have a 24/7 all weather airfield. Lights are able to activated remotely by incoming aircraft using a dedicated radio frequency. It is a 1300m strip.

The Royal Flying Doctor is one of the biggest users of the airstrip.

The community of Pinnaroo and surrounding districts are most appreciative of these services

Crop just emerging and the first of the urea is going on

After ~30mm over the weekend, mixed with mild conditions the crops will now get on some growth.
Some of the lentils were rolled in advance of the rain.

Wheat was just pushing through on Friday. The dry crust has now been replaced by a rich red moist finish

Not an ideal end to Saturday afternoon. But it’s given us all a day off Sunday to enjoy Mother’s Day 💐🌹🌺

But the milky way was amazing

PS: for those with an eagle eye the depth stops were loosened after the event too assist getting the clips off the clevis pins

The first of the barley made an appearance Thursday, a week after planting. 8mm of rain last weekend. More predicted in a week’s time. Potentially the best start to a “super El Niño” in living memory!
