Presenting our member-exclusive Private Bin White Release wines from Vintage 2026.

"This release is of the rare, and luckily second in a row, where we were blessed with both quality and quantity. As I have said before, the best vintages of whites, particularly Semillon, are the ones where the tonnes per acre is high and the juice to skin ratio is high. This combination often produces long-living, classic Semillons that drink well young, but age terrifically. 2005 and 2006 were two back-to-back vintages that have turned out to be true classics, and I believe 2025 and 2026 will follow the same trajectory and be forever linked as a classic pair of vintages."

The release is led by our Trophy-winning 2026 HVD Semillon, which was crowned ‘Best Current White Wine’ at the Sydney Royal Wine Show last month.

On the 2026 white release wines, Bruce Tyrrell, AM shares, "The wines all have loads of fruit on the palate, shall all live well into the future but I think we will all be surprised how well they will drink as young wines. "

Our 2026 HVD Semillon has triumphed at the Sydney Royal Wine Show today, being awarded the Trophy for Best Current Vintage White.

It is an honour to win this trophy, recognising this wine as the best white wine of any variety from across the country in the outstanding 2026 vintage. It is fitting recognition for this historic vineyard, planted in 1908, which has long produced some of Australia’s finest wines.

We are delighted to announce that 2025 Johnno’s Semillon has been named Semillon of the Year at the 2027 Halliday Wine Companion Awards.

First planted in 1908, Johnno's Vineyard lies just below the winery on alluvial sandy loam soils, bordering an ancient creek bed. These legacy vines consistently produce an extraordinary wine of a unique calibre.

"Hand picked and basket pressed with minimal juice clarification. An exotic, slightly textural style of semillon, soft and expressive yet also ultra-refreshing and cleansing. Accents of finger lime, mandarin and calamansi glide over a pure lemon core. A unique wine and a fabulous celebration of Australia’s old-vine history."

Pruning marks the beginning of a new growing season in the vineyard and remains one of the most important tasks in viticulture, shaping the structure and balance of the vines for the year ahead.

Pictured here are our historic 4 Acres and 8 Acres vineyards, planted in 1879 (4 Acres) and 1892 (8 Acres) by our founder, Edward Tyrrell. These cherished blocks, the oldest on our family estate, continue to produce our highly sought-after Sacred Sites 4 Acres Shiraz and 8 Acres Shiraz.

The process of pruning is almost complete across our 250-acre estate, hosting approximately 270,000 individual vines. For the past two months, our vineyard team have completed the work entirely by hand, preparing the vines to burst into life with the arrival of Spring.

We thank our vineyard team for their commitment, as this meticulous work lays the foundation for what we hope will be an outstanding Vintage 2027.

On Friday we had the pleasure of hosting our Private Bin members and their guests at our Bring A Bottle event at Sails on Lavender Bay.

Members and guests enjoyed a delightful four-course luncheon, paired with a curated selection of our museum wines alongside their own cellared bottles from their private collections.

Part 2 | We present to you the new vintage release of our flagship Winemaker’s Selection wines. This collection of wines are sourced from our oldest and most iconic estate vineyards and represent the epitome of winemaking at Tyrrell's. Winemaker's Selection is one of Australia's oldest and most awarded collections of wine.

Vat 9 is the definition of Tyrrell's house style Shiraz; old vines that are dry-grown, matured in large format oak. The 2024 release of this wine is available now.
