Mount Pleasant Wines

Mount Pleasant Wines An icon over 100 years in the making. It was by the light of a gas lantern, the story of Mount Pleasant was created. Mount Pleasant Promotes Responsible Drinking
(306)

It was 1921 and Maurice O’Shea wasn’t afforded the luxury of electricity. Equipped only with the basic tools of a petrol driven crusher, hand pumps, an old basket press and a concrete tank, O’Shea brought Mount Pleasant to life. More than 90 years on, the equipment and names have evolved, but the principles and the vineyards remain the same. As does Mount Pleasant’s philosophy of honouring O’Shea’

s legacy through individual wines, special sites and celebrated styles. Our page is a place to enjoy the Mount Pleasant experience. Some posts or content may not be ok to share here, so here are some guidelines:

We are proud to share that our Chief Winemaker, Adrian Sparks, has been shortlisted for the 2027 Halliday Winemaker of the Year. It is a recognition that speaks to more than twenty-five years of dedication, a deep love of the Hunter Valley, and achievements that include Hunter Valley Winemaker of the Year, multiple NSW Wine of the Year titles, and a string of near-perfect scores from Australia's most respected critics.

The Halliday shortlisting is a moment worth celebrating and we’re beyond proud of Adrian, the entire Mount Pleasant team and of what Mount Pleasant is becoming.

To mark the King’s Birthday long weekend, we’re sharing a treasured piece of Mount Pleasant history; a visit from a then-young Prince Charles in 1974, alongside our former Chief Winemaker Brian Walsh.

Join us at the Cellar Door this long weekend, sit beside the fireplace with a glass of wine or reserve your spot and enjoy one of our curated wine experiences. Bookings are recommended. Open 10am to 5pm, 7 days.

We will be closed this Anzac Day to pay our respects to those who served and continue to serve. We believe in the importance of pausing and reflecting on their commitment to our country and to honour the legacy and sacrifice of our veterans and current service members. Our Cellar Door will reopen on Sunday 26th April at 10am.
