Named after Christopher Marlowe's famous play and character ‘Tamburlaine the Great’, we work to lead the way with our Contemporary Organics vision, successfully producing award-winning organic, vegan-friendly, low sulphur and no added sulphur wines. In 1985 the Hunter winery was purchased by a small group of friends and relatives led by Managing Director, Head of Grape and Wine Production, Mark Davidson. Through years of research and development, we have become one of Australia’s largest producers of organic wines with vineyards in the Hunter Valley and Orange region.

Our 2025 W**e Lovers Sauvignon Blanc is drinking beautifully at the moment thanks to that bright citrus zip the high-altitude Orange fruit does so well. Crisp, fresh and very hard to say no to as the weather warms up. Also part of our No Preservative Added range, for a more inclusive drinking experience.

That colour, though. Our rosé gets its pale salmon blush from organic fruit picked bright and handled gently, not from anything added along the way. It is one of those w**es that looks like summer in the glass and tastes even better.

If you are a ‘dry rosĂ© only’ sort of person, you and this bottle are going to get along. Bright strawberry fruit, a crisp line of acidity and a clean, savoury finish. It is lovely with a cheese plate, a sunny balcony and absolutely no plans for the afternoon 🧀.

We often get asked what ‘certified organic’ actually changes in the glass. The honest answer is that it starts in the soil. Healthier ground grows better fruit, and better fruit makes w**e that tastes like where it came from. No great secret, just a lot of care out in the vineyard across both our Hunter Valley & Orange regions.

We're excited to say we've finally launched a few more favourites to bolster our super popular No Preservatives Added W**e Lovers range, adding a Sauv Blanc, a RosĂ© & a Shiraz to sit alongside our No Preservative Added Blanc de Blanc that you all seem to not be able to get enough of. 😉

These have not seen any sulphur usage all the way from the vineyard through to the glass so you’re getting premium quality w**e that that is synonymous with our Tamburlaine Organic W**es name, but without any of the additives used along the way.

A range that has been getting a whole lot of love in recent years is our W**e Lovers range which is NPA, meaning no preservative added w**e.

We’re finding that people are not only trying it, but they’re making it their w**e of choice.

We’re one of the very few producers in the Australian market to have taken this on seriously and produce these NPA w**es to an extraordinary standard.

If you, a family member of friend has difficulty with preservatives in their w**e but hate to miss out on a good drop, do them a favour and tag them here, they’ll love you come silly season.

Our w**emaking team are looking for cellar hands/vintage w**emakers to join our cru for the 2027 vintage (late January to May) at our large w**ery at Cudal (near Orange - central west NSW). We will be processing approx. 3,000 tonnes and each year we engage a terrific team from all over the w**emaking world ... lots to learn and great contacts to be made. We would prefer some vintage experience and a valid working visa is a must.
