From one remarkable patch of dirt to the bottle. The 2026 Braemore Semillon has arrived.

Sourced from vines planted in 1969 at Braemore Vineyard on Hermitage Road, this is Hunter Valley Semillon in its purest form: hand-picked, whole-bunch pressed and made with the lightest possible touch.

The superb 2026 vintage has given us a Braemore of exceptional purity, intensity, line and length. Built to age for decades, yet made to drink beautifully from release.

The 2026 Braemore Semillon is available now from our Pokolbin Cellar Door and online.

THE 2026 SEMILLON RELEASE EVENTS

This October and November, we’re taking our new-release Semillons on the road before bringing the celebrations home to Pokolbin.

Join Thommo, Dan and the Thomas Wines team for a series of special lunches and dinners pairing our outstanding 2026 Semillon releases with menus from some of our favourite restaurants:

“This is the last vintage of Kiss shiraz from the 1969-planted Pokolbin Estate vineyard, bulldozed to make way for a housing estate. It feels profoundly wrong that buildings can be heritage listed, but not vineyards. Thankfully, cuttings were taken, so the genetic material can live on. But what a wine to close this chapter! It has a wafting berry perfume, and a dark, intense, memorable palate that marries power with energy and finesse. It feels like a mandala in a glass, reminding us that nothing is permanent and that beauty deserves our full attention while it is here. The only redemption is that this vineyard helped make Andrew Thomas the extraordinary winemaker that he is today, a truth no piece of heavy machinery can ever erase.”

We’re incredibly proud to share that Thomas Wines has been nominated for the 2027 Halliday Wine Companion Best Value Winery of the Year award.

It’s recognition that means a great deal to us because it reflects something we’ve always believed: world-class Hunter Valley wine should offer exceptional quality AND exceptional value.

As Halliday’s Katrina Butler wrote:

“If you’ve never poured yourself a glass of Thomas Wines, consider this your sounding alarm... Eleven of its wines were awarded the special value rosette and, staggeringly, 10 of those achieved over 95 points.”

For nearly 30 years, Andrew Thomas has remained committed to crafting single-vineyard Semillon and Shiraz that over-deliver in every bottle. To have that philosophy recognised by Halliday Wine Companion is incredibly rewarding.

It’s been incredibly special catching up with so many of our members right across the Eastern Seaboard and sharing the new release 2024 Shiraz Suite with you all.

To top it all off, being named 2026 Hunter Valley Cellar Door of the Year made this tour one we’ll never forget.
