James and Robert Lusby share a quiet moment among the vines, where time, knowledge, and craftsmanship converge. At Tintilla Estate Wines, w**emaking is an inheritance — shaped by generations, guided by intuition, and grounded in the Hunter Valley’s storied terroir.

Every step through the vineyard reflects a philosophy of restraint and excellence. Tradition is never rushed, quality is never compromised, and each bottle is a considered expression of place, legacy, and enduring elegance.

A closer look at what makes Tintilla Estate Shiraz so distinctive. 🍷🍇

Shiraz is one of the Hunter Valley’s best-known red varieties and holds a special place at Tintilla Estate. Crafted in a slightly more old-world style, this Shiraz is 100% barrel fermented, bringing depth, complexity and character to the w**e.

Dark berry flavours lead the way, followed by hints of mint and spice, while oak brings subtle layers of caramel and chocolate.

The Shiraz block sits on the edge of the Belford Limestone Dome, with limestone beneath much of the vineyard’s soil. This unique site contributes an added sense of structure to the w**e, complementing the primary fruit with earthy, to***co, inky and tarry notes.

These distinctive characteristics are also reflected in Tintilla Estate’s Patriarch Syrah, showcasing the depth, structure and character of this unique Hunter Valley site.

Some places become special because of what they give us. Others become special because of everything that has been poured into them over time.

What began in 1994, when Robert and James Lusby planted the first vines at Tintilla Estate, has grown into something far greater than rows of vines. It has become a family legacy — shaped by seasons, hard work, quiet moments in the vineyard and a love for the land that has only grown stronger with time.

More than three decades later, the vineyard carries those memories in every row. Through changing seasons and countless vintages, the land continues to tell its story in the fruit it gives us.

There’s a certain beauty in knowing that a bottle of w**e can hold more than flavour. It can carry the character of a place, the hands that cared for it, and a little piece of the journey that brought it to life. ❤️

From the first vines to every vintage that follows, Tintilla Estate remains a celebration of family, land and the memories created along the way.
