This beauty comes from asparagus crowns approx 7 years old which we transplanted from our Pemberton property.
Appropriately named " Fat bastard " they are delicious !
Wines pretty good too !

Sundays are for sleep ins , unfortunately that wasnt the case for me this morning.
But Ash, our guardian dog has a late start while John moves the chicken caravan .

Progress pictures from the berry patch.
We grow 2 varieties of raspberries here at Jilba . Our aim been to have fruit for as long as possible.
The earlier fruiting variety are flowering , with some berries already formed.
Mother nature was letting us know they needed some love.
We will mulch in a few weeks in time for those warmer days

Our berry patch was one of the first things we started when we moved here 4 years ago.
I had dug the plants out of the path in our berry patch at Pemby.
Every year , it increases in size , the soil improves from mulching and fertilising and things start to come together.These are our new strawberry wicking beds , not finished yet
Progress ...not perfection.
