Throwback Tuesday — the Northern L. ⚓
This old newspaper clipping tells the story of a major moment in the Dinko Seafoods journey: the conversion of the Northern L into what was described at the time as Port Lincoln’s biggest fishing vessel.
It was a big vision — taking an existing vessel and converting her for purse-seine fishing, with significant work planned to prepare her for the next chapter of the tuna industry.
Looking back at photos like this, it is hard not to think about the people behind the vessel: the crew, the shipyard teams, the engineers, the families and everyone who helped turn a plan into reality.
Did you work aboard the Northern L? Were you involved in her conversion, or do you remember seeing her arrive in Port Lincoln?
We would love to hear your stories. Please share a memory in the comments and tag someone who might remember her. 👇
