Quinces are a unique, fragrant, old fashioned fruit. I have been lucky enough to have an abundance of quinces, grown locally on my parents farm aswell as from some generous people surrounding the Eyre Peninsula - thankyou! This particular fruit is not usually eaten in its raw form, and its true flavor and beauty is only revealed once slowly cooked. Quince Paste makes the perfect condiment served
with cheese & crackers and your favourite glass of wine. It may also be used as a breakfast spread and also to accompany certain meat dishes, to add a unique sweet and floral flavour. "Quaint Quinces" also has a variety of condiment pastes you may wish to also purchase that are just scrumptious. 2014 brings fresh ideas including my "Quince Jelly", plain or infused with chilli or a rosemary sprig. An ideal condiment served with BBQ meats, cheese, ham or seafood. Each Paste is best kept refrigerated and willl last up to 12 months. (But somehow I think you will enjoy it straight away).
