Kenny’s Surf Report | 29th August 2026
As surfers, we live by whatever the ocean gives us. Secret is, we probably only get perfect conditions 30 days a year. The rest of the time? Most take lay days, but Bobby and I paddle out anyway.
Bobby won’t count it as a surf unless he gets 6 waves. Our rule: 20 meters standing up counts (though I’ll admit, I sometimes lie down and ride the foam just to get one!). One solid wave makes the whole morning.
Looks like Maria and Cherie have caught on to the ultimate truth: you can’t catch waves from the carpark. They’re out there with us most mornings now. Of course, post-surf coffee at Salty Crew always comes with a gentle:
"Did anyone actually get a bomb today? Those conditions were horrible!"
..but there’s always respect just for putting in the work. 🤙
Weather Watch
Spring is in the air! Rain clears into the weekend with temps holding steady (10–20°C). Heading into September, expect a little sting in the tail from our unpredictable weather.
Weekly Conditions Breakdown
Winds: SW 10–20 knots over the weekend, turning SE–NE 10–15 knots from Tuesday.
Swell: 1.4–2M SSE (looking good!).
Water Temp: Steady 20°C, but expect a cool-down next week as NE winds pick up.
Tides: High early mornings (1.2–1.8M), dropping by mid-afternoon (0.3–0.4M).
Weekend Outlook
Friday through Monday offers nice waves on most beaches. Crescent Head, Point Break, Racecourse, and Point Plomer are all looking prime on the run-in tides.
