Silver Medal - in the USA!
It was super cool to receive BBQ Industry recognition of an International Silver Medal last week.
My video series Episode - Fire Kitchen with Adam Roberts - where I profiled Tunstead Oysters, a great Port Macquarie based local family business was the entry I submitted for judging.
The NBBQA organisation is based in the USA and celebrates its 35th year as the leading BBQ Association dedicated to supporting the growth, awareness and recognition of BBQ industry contributors in the USA.
This highly respected organisation facilitates the largest Annual Awards of Excellence across many aspects of BBQ Business and Products. All Awards are judged by industry experts and/or peers.
I’ve been privileged to receive many Awards through the NBBQA over the last 10 years including 3 Gold medals, 2 Silver medals and a Bronze medal for my work in content creation across cookbooks and video documentaries.
This Silver Medal (on it’s way via Post) is up there as one of my favourite awards.
This video Episode profiles Port Macquarie, the unofficial birthplace of low n slow competition barbecue in Australia, where I live, a place that I love to promote as the best place on earth, and features a great Australian in David ‘Tunny’ Tunstead. Tunny is a 5th generation oyster farmer who embodies the Australian spirit, a larrikin, community champion and a guy who never gives up (which he says is the Australian way).
Thanks go to Tunstead Oysters and Tunny for allowing me to share part of your story.
Thanks to Ben Blyth, an incredible Port Macquarie local behind the magic lenses and in the editing studio.
Thanks also to the NBBQA for allowing Australian talent to participate in your National Awards - and for the important work you do in recognising and supporting the BBQ Industry.
