I’m at work and needed something to eat, so I decided to make one of my favourite quick meals and get back into being more mindful about what I’m eating.
First step to making your burger bowl? Pick your favourite bowl, plate or container. Seriously. Let’s eat from the things we actually like to eat from.
Into the bowl went some baby spinach that had been washed earlier, then some leftover stir-fry vegetables because we all need a veggie boost, especially in winter here in Australia.
Next was my meat patty, roughly 150g of beef. Normally I’d make my own and add some spices. If you like a bit of heat, the Beef Spice is perfect. Want something smoky? Go for the Pork Spice. If you’re feeding everyone, the Chicken Blend is always a winner.
I didn’t have any burger cheese, which I highly recommend, so instead I crumbled over some feta. If your patty is still hot, it softens the feta and makes it lovely and creamy through the salad.
To finish, I added some Blue Mountains Honey Beetroot Relish. It’s sweetened with honey and has that beautiful beetroot flavour that’s subtle, slightly sweet and works perfectly with the beef.
As always, season your food. A little pepper, a little salt, and you’re done.
The patty was cooked in the air fryer for 10 minutes and came out perfectly.
Easy. Delicious. Packed with protein and veggies.
This is what Emma eats. What's on you plate for lunch today?
