I’m at work and needed something to eat, so I decided to make one of my favourite quick meals and get back into being more mindful about what I’m eating.

First step to making your burger bowl? Pick your favourite bowl, plate or container. Seriously. Let’s eat from the things we actually like to eat from.

Into the bowl went some baby spinach that had been washed earlier, then some leftover stir-fry vegetables because we all need a veggie boost, especially in winter here in Australia.

Next was my meat patty, roughly 150g of beef. Normally I’d make my own and add some spices. If you like a bit of heat, the Beef Spice is perfect. Want something smoky? Go for the Pork Spice. If you’re feeding everyone, the Chicken Blend is always a winner.

I didn’t have any burger cheese, which I highly recommend, so instead I crumbled over some feta. If your patty is still hot, it softens the feta and makes it lovely and creamy through the salad.

To finish, I added some Blue Mountains Honey Beetroot Relish. It’s sweetened with honey and has that beautiful beetroot flavour that’s subtle, slightly sweet and works perfectly with the beef.

As always, season your food. A little pepper, a little salt, and you’re done.

The patty was cooked in the air fryer for 10 minutes and came out perfectly.

Easy. Delicious. Packed with protein and veggies.

This is what Emma eats. What's on you plate for lunch today?

Also if you want the weights of the ingredients and calories. Just comment BurgerB and I'll send them to you. Just note it's not automated. It's me. It may take some time for me to send it to you.

Monday mornings are never comfortable.

We all need to be off doing things, yet weekend mode is still activated.

Monday morning cuppas are a little different though.

While my tea is brewing, I walk around opening the blinds, never quite knowing what I’m going to see. Some mornings it’s fog, some mornings it’s frost. One day I’d love to open them to see snow, yet for now I’ll keep dreaming.

Today it was this moment.

Two kangaroos quietly enjoying the morning in our driveway while the drew sat across the grass and the sky looked like an artwork.

Mornings at Kadimah Park hit different.

And we’d love to share one with you. Join us for a morning around the fire pits with a brekky pie, a hot cuppa and a slower start to the day before life gets busy again.

Our next open day is Sunday July 5th 8am to 2pm. 235 Portland Cullen Bullen Rd Portland. Just 3 kms out of Portland NSW

Like many small family businesses, when sickness makes its way through the family, everything tends to slow down a little.

Over the past two weeks, the team here at Kadimah Park has progressively come down with whatever bug is doing the rounds. I’m on the mend, although as you can probably hear from my voice, I’m still quite croaky! We were hopeful Mum would be feeling better by this weekend, but unfortunately she’s still unwell.

Dad has headed off to collect the pies we had planned for this Sunday’s Open Day, and we’ll tuck them away for family meals over the coming week. If anyone was particularly looking forward to some pies, please feel free to get in touch.

We truly appreciate your understanding, patience and support. One of the beautiful things about a small business is the community that surrounds it, and we’re very grateful for ours.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Kadimah Park on Sunday 5 July, 8am to 2 pm, when we’re all feeling healthy again and ready to enjoy a beautiful winter’s day together.

Until then, take care, stay warm, and we’ll see you soon. ❤️
