The Smithfield family began operations in Proston, Queensland Australia and has now expanded its portfolio with properties near Goondiwindi and offices in Brisbane. Smithfield is built on solid foundations within the meat industry, owning and managing butcher shops dating back as early as the 1920’s. Today Smithfield calls upon three generations of experience to deliver first class cattle performa

nce and is recognised as one of the leading cattle companies in Australia. We adopt an approach of continual improvement to ensure we are a professional modern business. Smithfield Cattle Company implements industry best practice across its properties; Mondure Park, Teignmouth, Blacklands, Sunnygirl, Thurloo and other leased properties. Smithfield currently employs 70 passionate staff to facilitate lot feeding, crop production, cattle grazing and consulting. Over 80,000 head are processed through Smithfield annually and we buy and sell more than 100,000 tonnes of feed commodities per year.

A pretty special one for Mark Buttsworth and BRANCHVALE METAL ALLOY.

They take out the RPL & Smithfield Cattle Co Tom Strachan Memorial Aggregate, rewarding the highest cutout aggregate across the three rounds of the Open.

Along with the title comes $5,000 and the Tom Strachan Memorial bronze, presented by Ned Strachan.

Mark’s words after the presentation probably said it best. Tom was a special mate, and this one meant plenty.

What a spectacular evening we had last night at the show! A huge crowd came to see the opening of the show, with over 600 pieces of art on display. It’s been fantastic to sponsor the Local section of the show, and it was fabulous to meet this year’s winner Paul Fairweather with his 3D work ‘get to the chopper’.
