If I had to sum up my entrepreneurial journey in one sentence, it’s the ultimate Hero’s Journey.

Starting out over 10 years ago, I thought reading books like The E-Myth meant I could intellectualize my way around the classic rookie mistakes. Guess what? I made every single one of them anyway!

But here’s the biggest lesson: Knowledge is great, but true growth only comes through experience.

Entrepreneurship forces you into the unknown. It teaches you resilience, when to hold on, when to let go, and who to trust.

The real reward isn’t just reaching the finish line or hitting the goal—it’s who you become along the way.

Nyonya Demo & Lunch at Michelin Bid Gourmand Winn's Cafe moments beautifully captured by Chin Wah Teo.

We’ve learned how to make Nasi Ulam and Kacang Botol Kerabu and the ingredients that went into the recipes.

Nyonya cuisine is an integral part of Penang heritage and complex to make. Winn’s Cafe has preserved this tradition by presenting the cuisine beautifully and it’s a truly a unique dining experience in Penang.

Strangers on Day 1, family by Day 6.

From wandering the vibrant Clan Jetties and iconic street art murals to hands-on Nyonya cooking demos at Michelin restaurant Winn’s Cafe, Wau Bulan kite painting, and hand-drawn personalised gifts by host Pheh Sze Teh our final day in Penang was unforgettable!

We wrapped up the journey with a sunset birthday celebration on Batu Ferringhi beach, complete with beachside drinks, a surprise birthday cake, and a dazzling fire show finale.
