Cheers to everyone who came along to Loaded Barrel Distillery for a Brisket Roll

We got absolutely smashed! Had 150+ preorders, then about about 70 walk-ins

Thanks for your patience, as it got busy and messy, but done and dusted in 1.5hrs

We have a few ideas to make it smoother next time round

Indi on the tools and smashing out the rolls as usual

So all in all, pretty damn good 👍😊

So today while catering I said to Kaydan, grab some pics and vids maybe with my phone

And you know what.......may have stumbled across a talent he was hiding from us

Also, tomorrow evening, 6pm-9pm we are doing a pop-up at Loaded Barrel Distillery in Rowville

I will be closing pre-orders for the Brisket Rolls tonight, so while there will be some walk-ins, if you don't want to miss out get those orders in

I was just having a think of all the barbecues I've had

I started on a backyard built brick and steel flattop bbq

Then I got myself a Weber kettle, quickly followed up with a custom Offset Smoker (didn't do things by halves)

After a little while I guess I got tired of maintaining the fire in the offset, and ended up with another 3 Weber kettles

The offset got swapped for all the gutters on the house 🏠

As I got tired of the kettles a few bullet smokers and a huge cabinet smoker made their way home

Kettles were given to mates, sick of the cleanup on them

Drum Smokers suddenly became popular and the bullets made their way onto FB marketplace

A few drums were handy for a while, while I toyed with the idea of a pellet smoker

Somewhere I ended up with a BGE and a Pit Barrel

Pellet smokers were used and abused until it needed an update, which meant another quick/cheap sale of the pellet, the BGE got given away

Ended up with 2 large upright cabinet smokers, which similar story, got used and abused then sold dirt cheap

While this was all happening, I got another Kettle, Bullet, Drum, Offset, Ceramic and Pellet, which were all used for BBQ Masterclasses

3 different sized Ceramic BBQs made their way home

Another Kettle managed to make it home

A final upgrade of a large pellet grill, which so far, so good, hasn't needed an update yet........

Then I found Suzie 💕

Pit Barrel was retired to become a fire pit, then I lost some parts

The Masterclass BBQs all got given away

Kettle got given to one of my workers

And currently I'm left with Suzie, 3 Ceramics and a Pellet

Damn have I had some BBQs.......

Also amongst that I've had multiple spits, parillas and hibachis

Hey everyone!

Little short notice, but I thought why not

This Friday 4th September, we are going to do a popup at Loaded Barrel Distillery in Rowville

We will be there 6pm-9pm, unless sold out, with our Brisket Rolls

Now, I have set up a pre-order in case you are worried about missing out

This will help me gauge numbers a little 😉🤔🤗

Food will be ready for takeaway, however, if seats are available at Loaded, why not sit down and have a drink while you enjoy the food

Thanks for everyone who grabbed a pastrami roll today at Kelly's Meats

Almost 400 of them were made in a couple of hours

We had a rocky start, but after a fix on the numbers we got on top of it

I implemented a new ticket system/counter which did work really well, just 2 or 3 people didn't get a ticket which threw a spanner in the works

Shanyah and Indi taking orders, making rolls, and me making a mess haha 😂 😆

Just tucking in all the Pastrami for a nice little rest till tomorrow's popup at Kelly's Meats in Tooradin

I've cooked a heap, so head on down, 11am till 2pm, unless sold out

Tell your mates, bring the family, I've got lots 😀

Massive Briskets, brined, then seasoned with my blend of spices, and smoked over ironbark

These Pastrami Rolls will be served with a simple cabbage slaw, my burger sauce, pickles and cheese

That's the standard, simple and tasty 🍔

Now if you do happen to want any changes, to make things easy, just tell us what you don't want on it

But no changes will make for a much faster pace of service 😉😄

I took off at 3.30 am, and was tucked in bed by 11pm

And now look at me hahaha 🤣 😂

I've cooked a lot of things in those 4 years

Catering yesterday

Then

BBQ Masterclass this morning, with a full house of people wanting to up their BBQ Game, at BBQ Spit Rotisseries. 6 different BBQs, and 7 BBQ dishes smoked/grilled/roasted live

A quick cleanup, back home and reload, for a packed session at Loaded Barrel Distillery this evening

Good times!

Kaydan lending a hand at the class, and then hanging round the evenings antics, and Indi heading along also to help out at the Barrel

Smoked Bacon Jam Cheeseburgers, Brisket, Wings and sides

Hope everyone learnt a thing or 2 at the class and enjoyed the food and drinks at the session
