Killara feedlot is a modern 22,250 head feedlot located near Quirindi, on the edge of the Liverpool Plains, NSW. An opportunity exists for a full time Stockperson / Pen Rider.
WHAT WILL I DO?
As a Stockperson / Pen Rider you will have a varying day including:
• Daily observation, health management (including Treatment) of Livestock to ensure animal wellbeing
• Pen Riding and Horse Husbandry
• Stable Maintenance
• Cleaning and maintenance of stock water supplies
• Manual handling of animals in the feedlot
• Timely and effective receival of cattle (induction) including; vaccinating, ear tagging, drenching in accordance with relevant protocols and instructions
• Exiting cattle including diligence of animal types, completion of appropriate documentation and record keeping, weighing, scanning and drafting
WHO AM I?
To succeed at Elders, you will possess:
• A strong commitment to animal health
• Excellent horsemanship and riding capabilities
• Can provide at least 1 x Horse, maximum of 2 plus tack
• Commitment to safety and zero harm policy
• Proven problem-solving ability and attention to detail
• An understanding of animal nutrition and previous feedlot experience would be highly regarded
• Team player
• Reliable and highly motivated
• Ability to work autonomously and follow direction
