We've been quietly kicking off the season and testing fertility. Barnies and Legbars are doing very well. Our sussex are yet to produce the goods.
We have our first homebred Turkey Poults out and more due this weekend.

What a season it has been!

With a few hundred eggs hatched and most birds having been moved on to new homes, we're calling it done until the daylight hours increase and it stops looking like a murder scene, thanks to the moulting chicken feathers everywhere. Thanks to all those who have supported us this season and past seasons. We're excited for the season ahead. While we are sold out of birds for private sale, we have a few earmarked for the upcoming Kyneton & District Poultry Club Inc. Auction. Come along for a great day out and the chance to bid on some really great birds.

We had a great time at the Kyneton Agricultural Society Ag Show this weekend. We entered eggs into 7 of the 8 classes and took out three firsts, a second and two thirds. We also spent the day talking all things poultry and getting hands on with chicks at the poultry pavillion. Thanks to Kyneton & District Poultry Club Inc. for putting on an awesome display of birds to showcase some of the many heritage breeds available, and for having us along!

It's been a busy few weeks hatching and selling chicks here at Coghertson's Coop.

The latest batch of babies hatched over the weekend. Look how adorable they are!

We have chicks hatching most weekends during the spring/early summer season.

Legbars are flying out the door and Barnies are going as quickly as we can hatch them. We'll have some sexed Belgian d'Uccles and Sussex available in 1-2 weeks.
