SOMEBODY STOP ME! 💚 Release 4 of 5

There comes a time when careful planning gives way to wildly irresponsible curiosity.

When the sensible voice in your head says absolutely not, and the other one is already halfway out the door wearing a ridiculous grin.

That’s the story behind Somebody Stop Me!, our latest Hazy Pale Ale.

For this release, we paired a familiar favourite with something a little more unpredictable. Freestyle Motueka meets HPA-4029, an experimental hop from Hop Products Australia.

One we know and love. The other, an intriguing newcomer with something to prove.

Because sometimes the most interesting discoveries happen when curiosity gets the better of good judgement.

SOMEBODY STOP ME! | HAZY PALE ALE | 5.0%

Bright lime zest and vibrant citrus lead the way, followed by subtle tropical fruit, fresh green hop character and an intriguing grassy, herbal edge. A soft, hazy body carries a touch of resin and a firm, lingering bitterness that gives this little pale plenty of attitude.

Could be genius. Could get completely out of hand.

GO BABY GO. 🏁 Release 3 of 5

There’s always one.

The one that gets under your skin. The one you can’t quite forget. The one that keeps calling you back for another go.

That’s the inspiration behind Go Baby Go, our latest West Coast IPA.

A little old-school attitude with a modern approach. Four classic hop varieties, bright citrus, fragrant pine and a clean, crisp bitterness. Everything we love about a great West Coast IPA, with nothing getting in the way.

GO BABY GO | WEST COAST IPA | 6.8%

Brewed with Simcoe, Columbus, Amarillo and Cascade, delivering freshly zested grapefruit, vibrant citrus peel, fragrant pine and layers of resinous hop character. A clean malt base lets the hops shine, with beautifully integrated bitterness building through each sip before giving way to a lean, dry finish with lingering grapefruit and pine.

Smooth. Easy ride. We’re just gonna glide.

NO SUPERPOWERS AT ALL. ⚡ Release 2 of 5

No cape. No super strength. Can’t even fly without assistance.

But who said you needed superpowers to be extraordinary?

Some heroes save the world. Others have an impressive moustache, a parachute and the sort of confidence usually reserved for people who can actually fly.

That’s the story behind No Superpowers At All, our latest New Zealand Pilsner.

A little reminder that you don’t need extraordinary abilities to be part of something extraordinary. Sometimes all it takes is showing up, having a go and being just a little bit ridiculous along the way.

Of course, the high winds might make things a little more interesting.

Brewed with Freestyle Motueka and Eggers Nelson Sauvin hops, delivering bright lime zest, vibrant citrus, white grape and subtle tropical fruit. Clean, crisp and refreshing, with expressive hop aromatics, balanced bitterness and a beautifully dry finish.

Sometimes the best things about brewing have very little to do with the b**r itself.
They’re the friendships, the people you meet along the way, the brewers who share their knowledge, the venues that back you, and the people who keep showing up to support what you’re doing.

That’s the story behind On Your Left, our latest Hazy IPA brewed especially for Sydney B**r Week.

In an industry where everyone’s running their own race, there’s something pretty special about knowing that when it matters, someone will be there alongside you.
It’s also our way of saying thanks to everyone who voted for Precursor in the B**r & Brewer Awards, and to everyone who’s helped us get this far. We might be a small brewery, but we’re surrounded by some pretty incredible people.

The first rule?

Make something you actually want to drink.

That’s been pretty much the approach since day one.

So when it came time to mark our first birthday, a Hazy DIPA felt like a fairly appropriate way to celebrate it.

The First Rule Of… brings together Superdelic, Rakau, Motueka and Citra for a big hit of tropical fruit, citrus and stone fruit, wrapped up in that soft, saturated haze we love.

No sensible little anniversary b**r.
No playing it safe.

Just another excuse to make the kind of b**r that got us here in the first place.

This wasn’t one of them.

Are You Not Entertained? is our 10% Hazy Triple IPA, built around a rare lot of Eggers Special Riwaka and brewed as the kind of b**r you make when there’s something worth celebrating.

Over the past year we’ve created 20 different drinks. Each one another chance to experiment, chase an idea, push a style, or just make something we genuinely wanted to drink.

So for this one, we went all in.

Big, saturated, intensely aromatic and completely for the people.

Which really leaves us with only one question…

🎉 Precursor turns ONE! 🎉

And we’re celebrating today with a tap takeover at Rusty Penny — 8 Precursor drinks on tap. Come on down, have a b**r with us and help celebrate the first birthday. 🍻

To say the first 12 months have been a wild ride would be an understatement.

In our first year we’ve created 20 different drinks, purchased our own brewhouse and fermenters, somehow decided it was a good idea to build our own tap vehicle, and had the opportunity to brew alongside two great breweries in Future Brewing and Rusty Penny.

And just in time for our first birthday, our birthday present has landed… 👀

There’s been a lot packed into 12 months, and we definitely couldn’t have done it without the support we’ve received along the way.

A huge thank you to everyone in the industry who has helped, supported, given advice, opened doors or simply backed what we’re trying to build.

And most importantly, thank you to the craft community for welcoming us, giving our drinks a chance, buying them, sharing them and coming back for more.

We genuinely appreciate every bit of it.

Cheers to an incredible first year. Strap yourselves in — year two is going to be even bigger.

THE TRILOGY HAS ARRIVED.

You either die a hero… or brew enough hazies to become the villain.

I have a soft spot for clean, bitter, piney, resinous IPAs.

But every time I ask what b**r you want next though…
“Another hazy.”

That running joke eventually became this release.

⚔️ Die A Hero — the Cali IPA I wanted to brew.

🦹 Live As The Villain — the DDH Hazy IPA everyone asked for.

🌩 Knight In The Dark — the Imperial Stout lurking in the shadows, proving every great story deserves a third act. With additions of toasted coconut, raspberry and delicious cacao nibs from Josophans Fine Chocolates in Leura.

Three b**rs. Three completely different directions. One story.
