A bush track off a country lane off a quiet high country road. That's where you'll find Bob. Just quietly growing some of the North East's best grapes.
Whorouly South. Just south of Whorouly.
Two newbies from Bush Track here, 2024 Sangiovese from a tiny pocket of estate grown fruit and Aglianico from quite literally just over the back fence.
The Sang is spot on. Distinctly old world look and feel. Dried cherry, terracotta and amaro twang. Unforced but entirely complete. More I sat with it, the more I liked it. A quiet charmer. Like Bob.
The Aglianico shimmers. Intensely perfumed and primary, violet and rose petal. Wild eyed and pretty. Sweet turned earth and ripe herbal tones keep it grounded. Just medium weight, and just a little come hither. Unlike Bob.
Wines this good don't need any sort of charitable appeal, but the Alpine Valleys winefolk have had a torrid time lately...none of it their own doing. You could do worse tham mix up a case or two.
