Shadyoak Holsteins is owned and operated by Mark & Narelle Boardman and located in Gippsland, Victoria. The herd is still being built up in numbers with 300 animals including 200 milkers. The split calving herd is milked on approximately 205 acres of flood irrigated pasture in the MacCalister Irrigation District. The herd is milked through a 20 swing over. red Holsteins with the balance being xbreds as well as a handful of Brown Swiss, Guernsey, Ayrshire and Milking Shorthorns bred up from a xbred. We focus on using the latest genetics to breed functional, good uddered, fertile cows. Red, polled and A2 also feature in our breeding program. Select heifers and all bulls are genomically tested to identify desirable traits.

Chriss made her way over the rainbow bridge this morning. Very grateful that she left a few more branches on the Chriss family tree for us to continue with.

Emerging brood cow and Queen of the herd Shadyoak O'Kalif Chriss VG89. Recently joined to Siemers Habulous P, Chriss has three daughters all milking at the moment.

Shadyoak America Chriss VG89, fresh again with the classifier booked in next week. Her only daughter so far is Shady Knoll Rubels Chriss GP83 (owned by Nola)who in turn has Pazzle and Hulu daughters.

Shadyoak Mirand O Chriss P VG87 due in March '26 to sexed Siemers Pronze Red. Her daughters are by Dropbox (polled) and Redlea (RC)
