Locked and loaded!

The weekend was all about the Angus.

This is one of the bigger days on the farm for us.

Drench, Multimin, vaccinate the calves, ear tags, DNA sample…

All family members on deck.

We don’t always get to tag our newborn calves as soon as they are born. So today was also about pairing mums and calves.

Then to add another element, we decided on an elite group of 15 cows who will partake in this years AI program and divided them off the original heard with their calves.

And yes Mum, I need a new hat! 😂

Calves are still dropping here at Stones Throw. 🙌🫠 And this one may just be another favouriteof mine. 😍

As winter comes to an end, the silage comes to an end, the calving comes to an end and the cold days are warming, we found a paddock that has not been touched for months. Rare.

We turned off the buggy and the quad and watched them eat the grass . Also rare.
