Peter Twomey’s maiden foray into the foal market is about to face its moment of truth in New Zealand, but that didn’t stop the Wattle Bloodstock principal from returning to the fold at this year’s Inglis Australian Weanling Sale.

Wulfruna, a Wootton Bassett two-year-old filly, is slated to have her first start at Waverley for Kevin and Stephen Gray on Saturday with the $180,000 Inglis weanling graduate winning a recent barrier trial to underline her talent.

With that experience behind him, Twomey was on the lookout for another weanling to race at Inglis’ Riverside Stables complex on behalf of an Asia-based client who has horses in Australia, New Zealand and England.

After missing out on a $400,000 Frankel c**t on Tuesday, Twomey successfully bid for an I Am Invincible filly out of Lope De Vega mare Noor Sahara from the Alma Vale Thoroughbreds draft.
