🌸 Yesssssss, It’s Spring!
Crazy rainy downpours, gorgeous sunshine and rainbows… Woohoo! ☔️🌈
🌿 Welcome to True Spring
September and October mark True Spring — traditionally described as a time that is warm, wet and windy, with an abundance of flowers and insects.
Here in Melbourne/Naarm, the Indigenous people recognised six seasons, rather than the four European seasons:
Pre-Spring
True Spring
High Summer
Late Summer
Early Winter
Deep Winter
It certainly feels like six seasons make more sense to us!
We’re now entering September, also known as Orchid Season. Have you spotted any of the tiny orchids while out on your local nature walks?
Then comes October — Tadpole Season! Soon we’ll be listening out for those wonderful frog sounds around the Seaford wetlands. 🐸
☕ Warm, Nourishing & Nourished
The weather is getting slightly warmer, but there’s still that familiar damp chill factor in the air.
So we’ll be keeping the organic teas, drinking cacao, soup ingredients and sourdough coming! They’re perfect for staying warm, strong and nourished as we transition out of Pre-Spring and into True Spring.
🍰 Healthy Treats for Rainy Days
Still craving a little something sweet? We’ve got plenty of healthy snack options for those moments!
Our organic baked cakes and slices are made with wholesome organic ingredients — including some cleverly hidden veggies.
Or try our gluten-free raw treats, designed to hit the spot without the huge blood-sugar spike of many conventional sweet treats.
And for those cosy home-movie nights on rainy Spring evenings, we’ve got plenty of healthier chip options too!
🥕 Spring Produce is Looking Fabulous
Our certified organic Spring produce is looking fantastic, so come in and stock up for the week ahead.
There’s plenty to inspire your kitchen, whether you’re planning:
Warming soups
Fresh stir-fries
Roasted veggie dishes
Juices and smoothies
Bright, seasonal salads
Delicious citrus varieties are still abundant, along with the last of the gorgeous local kiwifruit, late-season apples and pears — and plenty more seasonal goodness. ☺️
Happy True Spring! 🌸
