🪵 Free Firewood – You Cut, You Keep! 🪵

We’ve got an old tree that came down quite some time ago, and we’re looking to clear it up as part of our fire prevention and snake safety efforts.

Rather than see it go to waste, we’d love for someone to make use of it!

✅ Free to take
✅ Bring your own chainsaw
✅ You’ll need a ute or trailer to transport it
✅ Take as much or as little as you’d like

At Redgate Farm we’re always looking for ways to improve. We already practise rotational grazing, raise free-range animals, work to minimise waste, reuse and repurpose wherever we can, and we’re constantly asking ourselves…

After much debating, we’ve decided to part with a few of our beautiful Rouen drakes.

We purchased these boys to strengthen our breeding flock, they are absolutely stunning birds with fantastic size, colour and type. We simply have more drakes than we need, so it’s time for a few to find new homes.

They would make a fantastic addition to a breeding program, hobby farm or ornamental waterfowl collection.

Edit - it’s been picked up now *

Unfortunately we’ve had an order fall through.

We had 4kg of fresh duck liver prepared for a customer to collect on Wednesday, but unfortunately they never showed up and we weren’t able to reach them.

Rather than see beautiful, fresh produce go to waste, we’d love to pass it on to someone who’ll put it to good use.

If you’ve ever wanted to try making pâté, parfait, or another duck liver dish, now’s your chance to get a little creative!

🦆 FREE to anyone who can collect from the farm.
📍 Farm pickup only – please collect within the next 24 hours so it stays as fresh as possible.

If you’re driving past or know someone who would love it, send us a message. We’d much rather see it enjoyed around someone’s dinner table than have to throw it away. ❤️

Not the update we were hoping to share today 💔

This morning we found an eastern grey kangaroo that had been hit by a car on our road. He had suffered a shattered femur, but he was still very much alive.

Our staff quickly grabbed towels, put on their high-vis, stopped the traffic and worked together to safely catch him so he wasn’t left frightened and suffering on the side of the road.

Sadly, his injuries were too severe.
If you ever hit a kangaroo, please don’t just keep driving. If it’s safe to do so, stop and check on them. Call a wildlife rescue organisation or a local vet for help, and always check for a joey.

For those in our area, WINC (Wildlife In Need of Care) can be contacted on 1300 946 295. They are an incredible volunteer-run organisation that gives so much of their time to caring for our native wildlife. If you ever have a spare $5, every donation makes a difference. We’d also encourage you to follow their social media to see the amazing work they do and how you can help.

We know accidents happen, but these beautiful native animals deserve compassion. Taking just a few extra minutes can prevent hours of unnecessary suffering.

Please slow down, especially around dawn and dusk, and help us look after Australia’s incredible wildlife 💛🦘
