There's POWER in our waterways.

This History Festival, we're bringing you all manner of events that celebrate natural attractions and allow attendees to do some outdoor roaming. We're happy to be previewing a few of them ahead of the release of the printed program very soon.

The power of the water in the year-round flowing spring that feeds the Anacotilla River was harnessed by Garnet Kelly, who built the stone weir pictured in 1907.

Yankalilla Historical Society & Anacotilla Springs will be offering a guided tour in May 2024, beginning with a presentation on the history of the weir, and the Kelly family. Participants can then walk or be conveyed from the house to the Anacotilla weir itself and the adjacent stone wall.

Bookings required online. (Bookings will open at the same time as the release of the printed program.)

What a stunning experience we had today at Anacotilla Springs💧🌿🦘

This property has an incredible mix of both natural & human history and is now the site of a ecological and farming rejuvenation project.

Attendees of today’s event enjoyed a walking tour of the property and got to see the historic weir that was built in 1907 as well as the many majestic 200-300 year old River Red Gums and the creatures that call this preserved section of the Anacotilla River home.

We’d like to thank Rob & Pamela for hosting this event today and sharing both the history and their experiences with revegetating & protecting the property.

Thanks to everyone who attended. We loved having you here. Pamela and Rob
