Drawn from a single vineyard block and shaped by the cool, even conditions of the 2023 vintage, Clos Otto brings together intensity and structure with elegance and refinement. Already expressive in its youth, it also possesses the depth and composure to evolve beautifully over time.

Before it was Clos Otto, it was Otto Kasper’s vision.

Planted by an elderly German gentleman using cuttings from an ageing, secret Shiraz clone, this vineyard has always been something special. Low yielding, intensely flavoured and shaped by its natural amphitheatre, it produces fruit of remarkable depth and balance.

Now under the custodianship of Hentley Farm, Andrew and Siobhan continue to honour Otto’s legacy by creating a phenomenal wine that saw the 2022 Clos Otto Shiraz awarded a perfect 100-point score.

The 2023 Clos Otto Shiraz is now available online, via our Cellar Door and through our Brand Ambassadors to our Clos Otto and Tally Room members.

At the Hentley Farm Wine Bar, patrons can soak up the atmosphere with a glass of our wine in hand.

We couldn’t be more excited to support the Adelaide Football Club and be part of what’s set to be an unforgettable season of AFL Footy.

We love the 2023 Clos Otto Shiraz and we’re thrilled that Dave Brookes from the Halliday Wine Companion sings its praises too. A phenomenal review that captures the character of the wine beautifully.

“Deep crimson in the glass and deeply aromatic with glossy satsuma plum, blackberry, blueberry and boysenberry fruits. Hints of baking spices, roasting meats, violets, dark chocolate, some distant ferrous notes, nicely judged vanillin oak and earth. The wine sports a contemporary feel but it sings true to the Barossan hymn-sheet with heady fruit density and purity, a superfine, compact tannin array and a bright mineral line that lends detail and cadence as the wine trails away with a sense of latent power and grace. Jeez, Hentley Farm is making some cracking wines at the pointy end of its lineup.”
