Today was our last pick of in and without a doubt some of the best fruit we’ve harvested over the past 12 years
from this vineyard. In April we have our 10th release of this cuvée, our most beloved and important cuvée

Seven years of creating what we have become today . Grateful to Matt and Leanne for leasing their sheds to us. A new space COMING 🔜

Late sowing, and extended cool 🥶 soil temperatures have not been ideal for cover crops this year. But we have had some success with our regenerator/pollinator mix. Crimson clover (Trifolium incarnatum) is abundant in our young vines, along with Capello Woolly Pod Vetch (Vicia villosa). Got to take the small wins when nature doesn’t follow our plan 🌱

WINEMAKER OF THE YEAR: FINALIST
With unwavering dedication, I obsess over every detail, take bold risks, and work tirelessly in the winery & vineyard to craft wines that embody our vision.
As a first-generation, small business, our mission is to create wines that tell a story of place and hold their own among the world's best.
While we don't chase awards, this recognition is a heartfelt acknowledgment of our relentless pursuit of excellence.
Huge thanks to for the nomination and believing in our vision. Congratulations to all the other nominees .wine .pooley

Yesterday we seeded cover crops at the Rende vineyard. Our young vines, all own rooted vinifera, are up to 5 years old now and have constantly struggled with other species competition, and nematodes that thrive in the extreme sands of Blewitt springs. We planted an Autumn pollinator mix in the young vines that includes mustard, chicory, tillage radish, amongst some rye and clover 🍀 that will assist in both reducing the nematode population and to compete with other species such as fat hen and veldt grass that thrive in the conditions here.
In the more established and vacant block we planted a perennial blend with fescue, rye, medics and clovers.
Here’s to some rain 🤞

Tomorrow morning at 7:30 ACDT, we’re thrilled to release our highly anticipated 2023 Grenache and Syrah, along with our 2024 Roussanne, on our website.

We’re immensely proud of these wines. They represent the culmination of our passion and dedication to the art of winemaking. We anticipate that these limited-production wines will sell out quickly, so we encourage you to place your order as soon as possible if you’d like to experience them.

Thank you in advance to everyone who supports us by purchasing our wines. Your support makes our dream of being vignerons a reality.

Sincerely,
MJC, Claire, Alexandra and Edouard

In addition to the vineyard, we have the privilege of working with growers who share the same values of hard work, passion and authenticity. It is of the utmost importance for us to acknowledge their contributions and these relationships.
We have worked with Tony and Tammy Mammone for a number of years with various viticulture tasks. This year is the first vintage we have been fortunate enough to have some of their 50 and 100 year old . With similar soil profiles to that of , sand, clay and ironstone, we are looking forward to showcasing a new ‘mclaren sands’ grenache in 2025. This marks the last pick of our 2025 vintage, one that will go down in the history books for many wrong reasons. We have been left feeling a little battered and bruised by what has been thrown at us in the past couple of weeks. No doubt many other wineries, growers and vignerons will also experience the same wrath. Now that mother nature no longer holds all the cards, we look forward to nurturing the fruit in the winery and continuing to stay true to producing the best representation of all the sites and varieties that we are dedicated too
