We’re really disappointed to say we’ll have to cancel our first Wynyard Foreshore Market tomorrow.

We’ve come down with the flu and, although we were hoping we could shake it off and be right by tomorrow, we’ve progressively gotten worse throughout today.

So, better safe than sorry — the last thing we want to do is share our nasty germs around along with the dumplings!

Sorry to anyone who was planning to come and see us. We were really looking forward to our first Wynyard market, but hopefully we’ll be fighting fit and back for the next one.

A little note about our “AI advertising” 😂

Apparently our little AI-generated posters have caused quite the stir, so we thought we’d clear something up.

We’re a small family-run Chinese restaurant in a little rural town in Tasmania. We’re cooks. We make dumplings. We pull noodles. We run a restaurant. We serve customers. We wash dishes. We do the shopping, the prep, the paperwork and about 400 other things that come with running a small business.

What we aren’t is a team of graphic designers, marketing executives or advertising professionals. 😂

We don’t have a marketing department.
We don’t have a graphic designer on retainer.
And unfortunately, there’s no bloke called Gary sitting out the back between the freezer and the bags of rice whipping up our Facebook campaigns. 😂

So yes — sometimes we use AI.

It helps us turn “Hey everyone, the dining room is open again Thursday at 5pm” into something a little more eye-catching than a giant paragraph of text.

That’s it. No conspiracy. No attempt to pretend the pictures are our food. Just a small business using a readily available tool to make advertising quicker, easier and more affordable.

And to those saying “all AI posts look the same, I just scroll straight past them”…

We say this with love, but apparently this one worked — because you stopped scrolling long enough to comment on it. 😂😂

We completely understand AI isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. That’s okay! Scroll on past and wait for our next photo of the real food — we post plenty of those too.

But please remember, there are real people behind small businesses. In our case, those people are Sammi and Alex. We’re doing our best, learning as we go and trying to spend our limited time and money on what matters most:

Making bloody good food. ❤️🥟

And rest assured — while some of our advertising might be AI…

the dumplings definitely aren’t. 😂

💨🥟 NO DUMPLINGS AT DEVONPORT TODAY! 🥟💨

Well… we were up, packed, loaded and ready to hit the Devonport Farmers Market this morning — then we walked outside. 😂

With the crazy winds and the Bureau of Meteorology’s Severe Weather Warning in place, we’ve made the disappointing decision not to attend today.

As much as we love taking T’s Chubby Dumplings on the road, we’d prefer them to stay chubby… not FLYING. 🥟💨😂 And we’re pretty sure a 3×3 marquee wasn’t designed to become Tasmania’s newest form of transport.

We’re especially disappointed because we had TWO new additions ready to debut today 😭 — but don’t worry, they’re not going anywhere. You’ll just have to wait a tiny bit longer!
