Meet Cotinus Grace - a real showstopper in the garden. This vigorous Smoke Bush brings colour through the seasons, with crimson-purple new growth maturing to rich green. In summer, delicate purple-pink flower clusters create that signature smoky effect, before the foliage transforms into stunning orange and red tones for autumn. A plant that keeps giving, season after season. ✂️ Prune in winter to maintain a compact, beautifully shaped plant.

We are joining the movement and walking for mental health in October…

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year?

This October, our team is taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and su***de.

We're clocking our kilometres and walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

If you would like to donate to support our walk you can visit our JFT team page here: https://www.onefootforward.org.au/fundraisers/jftnurseries

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

Follow us during October for updates and see how far our team walks in support of an important cause!

At JFT Nurseries, growing exceptional trees isn't just what we do, it's what we love. We're looking for a full-time, experienced Nursery Hand who shares our passion for plants and enjoys being part of a team that takes pride in growing top-quality trees.

If you have horticulture experience (especially in a production nursery), enjoy working outdoors, and are keen to expand your skills and knowledge, we'd love to hear from you.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Your work will play an important role in bringing our trees from young plants to thriving specimens. Your responsibilities will include:
• Planting, potting and propagation
• Budding and grafting
• Plant care and maintenance, including weeding, pruning and staking
• Grading, loading and tying trees during bare root season
• General nursery and labouring duties

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You're someone who enjoys getting your hands dirty, takes pride in your work, and brings a positive attitude each day. Ideally, you'll have:
• Experience in horticulture or a production nursery
• Strong communication and time management skills
• An eye for efficiency and continuous improvement
• Leadership potential and a willingness to support others
• A positive, team-focused attitude
• A current driver's licence (manual licence an advantage)
• Tractor driving experience also beneficial

This role will keep you on your feet with plenty of walking, bending, moving plants, and carrying materials throughout the day. You'll need to be comfortable with regular physical activity and manual handling tasks.

WHY YOU'LL LOVE WORKING WITH US
🌿 Spend your days outdoors in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges
🌱 Learn from experienced horticultural professionals who are passionate about what they do
🤝 Be part of a friendly, supportive team that genuinely enjoys working together
💚 Access staff wellness initiatives
📚 Ongoing learning and development opportunities to help you grow your career

Apply now via our careers page on our website and become part of a team that's helping shape landscapes around Australia, one tree at a time.

Bare root sales season might be over, but there’s no slowing down around the nursery! We’ve swapped lifting, grading and shipping for planting, with the 2028 bare root stock now going into the ground. It’s a whole lot of work, but there’s something pretty satisfying about seeing another crop get its start. And before we know it, these little trees will be ready for their new homes! 🌱🌳💚

Our gorgeous Campanulata rubra in bloom! 🌸 One of our favourite flowering cherries, putting on a beautiful show of vibrant pink-red flowers in spring. It makes a real statement as a feature tree and is a great way to add a splash of seasonal colour to the landscape. A lovely option for landscapers, garden centres and designers looking to add something special to their next project.
