FeedSafe — a team effort, every day.
From the early days, our Managing Directors, Pam and Brendan, recognised the importance of FeedSafe and the strong systems needed to produce safe, consistent feed. That commitment continues to guide how we work today.
This year’s annual FeedSafe audit has once again been headed by Kimberley and Chelsea, coordinating the preparation, reviewing our systems and bringing together the detail that goes into keeping Heytesbury Stockfeeds accountable.
But behind every audit is a whole team doing the work every day. A huge thank you to our mill staff, drivers, sales and office crew for following our policies and procedures, completing checks and keeping accurate records. It all matters.
What is FeedSafe, and why is it important?
FeedSafe is Australia’s quality assurance program for stockfeed manufacturing, with an annual independent audit assessing compliance with its standards for good manufacturing practice.
It provides a framework for managing feed safety across our operation — from receiving and storing ingredients to mixing, hygiene, traceability and transport. These systems help reduce contamination risks and support the safe, consistent feed our farmers rely on.
For us, the responsibility extends well beyond audit day. It’s about paying attention to every step, so every load leaves our mill prepared and checked as it should, ready for the animals depending on it.
