Save the date - October 29th.

Our Field Day is on again and everyone is welcome to join us to view over a thousand plots of AGF Seeds’ commercial and pre commercial broadacre, pasture, and forage varieties trialed against industry benchmarks.

With trials covering yield, seeding rates, establishment, and management techniques, there will be something for every grower or agronomist to take away.

We will also be firing up the barbie to cook everyone lunch and there will be a complimentary coffee cart on site to keep us all fueled up.

Latest R&D recruit Mac & Anthony have been busy this week planting a rust screening oat trial in Clifton, QLD.

With 415 lines planted and to be scored for rust, we are hoping to identify lines that show signs of resistance. From there using molecular methods rust resistant genes will be identified by our research partners with the long-term goal of creating varieties with much higher rust resistance. This trial will be repeated across multiple sites including Yambuk, Smeaton, and Corryong.

It will be a long road from here to any commercial oat releases, but AGF is committed to putting in the work to find solutions for Australian farmers.
