Great few days at in Adelaide this week. It was great catching up with growers, friends, fellow Nuffield Scholars and businesses from across Australian horticulture, while exploring the trade stands, listening to information sessions and hearing about the innovation happening across the sector.

The future of horticulture is about creating more opportunities from what we already grow. 🌱

This week I (Krystal) spoke at the Hort Innovation Frontiers Breakfast in Adelaide about innovation, value-adding and the journey through the Australian-Grown Innovation program.

Thank you to Nicola & Julie and everyone who reached out after the presentation and for all the support shown towards our next chapter at Lush Lychees.

People always ask what we do in the “off season” at Lush Lychees…

Well, there’s no such thing as quiet on a farm.

It’s clean-up time, pruning, pulling out weeds and getting the orchard ready for the next season ahead. It’s hard work, but made a whole lot better with a few extra hands during school holidays.

The kids jump in, learn the ropes, and somehow still find time to discover all the little “locals” that call the orchard home 🐭🦎

This is farm life between harvests! Real, hands-on maintenance and all about setting up for the next crop 🍃

This is us - the family behind Lush Lychees.

What started as a dream to raise our three kids on the land has grown into 9,000 lychee trees, a pack shed full of summer energy, and fruit travelling across Australia and around the world.

Paul keeps the orchard thriving.
I (Krystal) run the pack shed.
The kids have grown up picking fruit, packing boxes, running the farm gate and learning what hard work really looks like.

Every box of lychees you buy supports a Central Queensland family farm — not a corporation.

We’re proud to grow premium Australian lychees, proud to employ locals during harvest, and proud to keep building something our children can be part of.

We’ve had 270mm of rain in the last couple of days here on the farm.

With the rain finally easing, we’re getting stuck into the last of our lychee harvest 🍒
We honestly can’t thank our staff enough for turning up, braving the rain, mud, flooded paddocks and washed-out roads, to help us finish the season.

Your commitment, resilience and hard work mean everything to us. Thank you to our incredible harvest crew, this season wouldn’t have happened without you 🙏❤️
