Yesterday’s Fire Ant Alternative Treatment presentation by Trevor Hold at The Springbrook Hall was exceptionally interesting and informative. He shared his knowledge of Fire Ant biology and behaviour and helped us to understand why after 20+ years the chemical only approach is not working and the ants are still spreading! An integrated and broader approach is needed to solve the problem. His methods are part of a more sustainable and environmentally responsible solution for managing fire ants and protecting our land, animals, health and lifestyle. This event was proudly sponsored by The Springbrook Chamber of Commerce and we thank Trevor for making the time and effort to come and speak to our community.

Happy Easter! We have lots of eggs on the farm stall at the moment. Along with our own Echo Valley eggs we have some extra Springbrook pasture raised eggs from our friends at Sunnybrook. Also lots of great certified organic veggies if you need some for Easter lunch or dinner!! Also our very own certified organic limes if you need some for cocktails, salad dressings or iced drinks!!!

We have a couple of boxes of our certified organic limes on the stall. Great value at $25 for 5kg! These are excellent for cocktails, juicing, preserving, making jam, squeezing into your glass of water, zesting onto ice cream or into your cooking and whatever else you can think of eg desserts, cakes, roast chicken, salad dressing and so many other wonderful healthy uses! We also still have free macadamias if you’d like to pick up a bag! 🙂
