What a whirlwind of a week at the Australian Highland Cattle National Show! We are still recovering but had the most amazing time, from setting up all week, entering our own cattle to running laps of the showground on a daily basis, social gatherings, formal dinners and award presentations we can’t thank everyone enough for making this show such an amazing experience!

Special thanks to my family and friends for everything they have done to make this possible (especially over the past 18mths!), to my fellow committee members, our international judge and all our exhibitors and visitors to the show!

Results still to come as well as introductions to a couple of very cute new additions to the fold who chose make their entrance during the busiest week of the year!

The 2026 Australian Highland Cattle Society National Show is coming to Bathurst Showground from 5–7 June 2026, bringing together the very best Highland cattle from across Australia for the biggest event on the national Highland calendar.

This year’s show has attracted record-breaking entries, with breeders travelling from across the country to exhibit their cattle and compete at the highest level. Across the June Long Weekend, spectators will have the opportunity to see some of Australia’s finest Highland cattle judged by an internationally renowned judge, with the show culminating in the crowning of the Supreme Highland Exhibit.

There will also be trade stalls, junior handlers, parader competitions, family fun and plenty of shaggy coos to see across the weekend.

Highland cattle are hitting morning TV tomorrow on Sunrise! 🐂

Tune in to Sunrise tomorrow morning at around 8:30am for a special Highland cattle segment promoting the 2026 Australian Highland Cattle Society National Show.

It’s not every day our shaggy coos get the spotlight on national television, so grab a coffee, turn on the TV and help us get ready to celebrate Australia’s biggest Highland cattle event.

The AHCS National Show will be held at Bathurst Showground from 5–7 June 2026 and is open to spectators, with tickets available to pre-purchase online or buy at the gate across the weekend.

Caramilk is a well put together cow, she is quiet, calves down easily and is a great mum. Caramilk comes when called and can be hand fed. Not halter trained, only selling due to lack of feed.

The Highlands are shown in the Other Recognised Breeds category, due to there being too few Highlands to run a breed specific class. They competed against a range of other breeds with some very strong competition and we couldn’t be more proud of the results.

This year saw the highland numbers double compared to last year which is fantastic to see and we are very excited for what the future holds!

A huge thank you to Koolah Creek Highlands - Mid North Coast NSW for looking after my boy all week down there, prepping him on show day and handling him in the ring. Without you he would not be where he is today and we are extremely grateful for your dedication to him, to our little stud and to the Highland breed. Can’t thank you and the team enough! Onwards and upwards!
