Way to go Alasdair! So proud of the big fella, and can’t thank Koolah Creek Highlands - Mid North Coast NSW enough for the work they put into him down at Canberra. Very appreciative and grateful for the opportunity to own this lovely bull. Thank you for entrusting him to me and for allowing me to introduce some outstanding genetics to my fold, I hope he can make you proud with his achievements (and hopefully some babies on the ground in the near future!) 🏆🥇🐮🤩

At the 2026 Canberra Royal Show, Alasdair claimed:
• Grand Champion Highland Bull
• Senior Champion Highland Bull
• 1st - Highland Bull 20–30 months
He then went on to place 3rd in the Interbreed Bull class, standing amongst the top Small & Rare Breeds exhibits.
Watching a bull we bred go on to claim Grand Champion is incredibly rewarding. Huge congratulations to Jenna and Springside Highlands.
The judge made particular comment on Alasdair’s structural soundness - something we place enormous importance on in our breeding program. He combines type, strength of structure, Highland character and an exceptional temperament, and it was very rewarding to see those qualities recognised in the ring.
We keep very few bulls entire, with the majority of our males steered, so results like this give us real confidence that our selection decisions and long-term breeding direction are on the right track.
Alasdair's dam is one of our favourite and most consistent cows. Seeing her son step up to this level is incredibly satisfying.
It was a pleasure to prepare Alasdair for the show ring and see him perform so well for Springside Highlands.
Moments like these make all the hard work worth it. 🐂✨
