The 2026 Australian Highland Cattle Society National Show is coming to Bathurst Showground from 5–7 June 2026, bringing together the very best Highland cattle from across Australia for the biggest event on the national Highland calendar.

This year’s show has attracted record-breaking entries, with breeders travelling from across the country to exhibit their cattle and compete at the highest level. Across the June Long Weekend, spectators will have the opportunity to see some of Australia’s finest Highland cattle judged by an internationally renowned judge, with the show culminating in the crowning of the Supreme Highland Exhibit.

There will also be trade stalls, junior handlers, parader competitions, family fun and plenty of shaggy coos to see across the weekend.

The Australian Highland Cattle Society National Show is coming to Bathurst Showground this June Long Weekend, 5–7 June 2026.

It is Australia’s biggest Highland cattle event, bringing together the very best Highland cattle from breeders across the country.

📍 Where is it?
Bathurst Showground, NSW.

📅 When is it?
Friday 5 June to Sunday 7 June 2026.

🎟 Can the public attend?
Yes! Spectators are very welcome.

Tickets are available at the gate across all three days. Saturday and Sunday tickets can also be pre-purchased online.

Pre-purchase online to skip the queue, receive a bonus family ticket deal, and receive the digital Show Program free.

🐮 What will be happening?
Across the weekend you can expect Highland cattle judging, junior handlers, parader competitions, trade stalls, the Grand Parade, Costume Classic, and plenty of opportunities to see Highland cattle up close.

🏆 What is the best day to come?
If you want the full experience, come Saturday or Sunday - or make a weekend of it.

Friday is a quieter day, focussed on the Education Workshop Day (for AHCS members only). Cattle will be on display in the sheds for spectators, and the program will feature junior judging and commercial classes.

Saturday is the main stud cattle judging day, with individual female and male classes, followed by paraders.

Sunday is the big finale, with champions, Grand Champions, Supreme Exhibit, group classes, the Grand Parade and Costume Classic.

🐂 Can we pat the cows?
Maybe - but only with permission from the owner or handler.
Many exhibitors are happy to chat and answer questions when it is safe to do so.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Is it family friendly?
Yes. Families are very welcome!

🛍 Will there be stalls?
Yes, there will be trade stalls, food vendors and plenty to see across the weekend.

📺 Was this the show featured on Sunrise?
Yes! The Sunrise segment helped promote the 2026 AHCS National Show and the Highland cattle community ahead of the Bathurst event.

💻 Is there an online auction?
Yes. Our fundraiser auction is live, with over $13,000 worth of items on offer - including Highland giftware, photography and experience vouchers, farming gear and more. Bidding is open to everyone.

🤝 Can businesses still sponsor or donate?
Yes. Sponsorships and donations are still being accepted, and all support is hugely appreciated. We would love to have more local businesses involved.
