A quite note for all my Flemington customers,
I wont be at market this sunday as it seems i upset the weather gods again earlier this week,
we ended up with 110mm of rain which made things a trifle soggy and muddy to say the least,
fingers crossed theres been minimal impact to crops esp the spuds,
but time will tell on that front,
will be back as normal on the 15th
Cheers Johnny Wild Dog,

For all my Flemington customers,
I'll be back at market tomorrow,
with a reasonable selection of colourful goodies,
but lower volumes of some,
theres even some spuds on board as promised,
King Edwards and Dutch Creams,
no sugar snaps or strawbs this week
due to hail damage,
fingers crossed strawbs will be back mid/late Janurary 🤞
hope to see you all tomorrow,
Cheers Johnny Wild Dog

It seems i have somehow upset the weather gods this season, as on monday alot of my crops got smashed by a hail storm, which turned alot into confetti and other look like they have been thrown on the ground and then jumped on, as seen in the pics,
its all rather disheartening to say the least, a big financial hit and such a waste of all the time and effort that had gone into those crops,
and well as for strawberries,
none of them till mid/late januarary,
So where does that leave things ...
well i wont be at market this Sunday, as what crops survived need a bit of recovery time,
and i do too, theres lots of curse words being used at the moment !!
i'm aiming to be back at market as usual on the 14th, and have no idea yet about the 21st

Cheers Johnny Wild Dog

Well as cold and wet and horrible the weather is and has been, i'll be at Flemington tomorrow

hope to see you tomorrow

Great news for my Flemington customers,
Tomorrow's my first market back at Flemington for this growing season,
It'll be mainly with leafy greens and some coloured carrots etc to start with,
as per attached photo,
strawbs and peas aren't far away either,
the somewhat fussy farmer is pretty happy with how all the crops are looking and eating too,
so fingers crossed this will be a great growing season ahead 😃
See you back at the market,
Cheers Johnny Wild Dog

Well finally a bit of news for any of my market customers wondering if i'll ever be seen at Flemington again, as its certainly been quite a while !!
and the good news is that yep i'll be back and
aiming to put some more colourful
produce on the market table
its looking most likely on the 12th Oct,
subject to the usual farmer excuses like the weather etc,
early crops are looking good, strawbs are setting fruit, and sugar snaps are flowering well,
so fingers crossed the weather gods behave themselves this season, and its a bountiful harvest !!
see you all soon

Cheers Johnny Wild Dog

Tomorrow will be my last market at Flemington till the spring,
its a fair bit of an earlier finish to the season than i'd hoped for, all due to loosing 40% of my potato crop in late November,
due to too much rain 🙄
lots i could say about how dry things are now though, and how much extra work its involved,
but that'd be atleast a 500 word essay,
so lets just say this season sucked,
and leave it at that,
a big thanks to my great customers for your ongoing support regardless of the weather, and for embracing the riot of colour that i am trying to put on my table,
So if i don't see you tomorrow,
thanks again and i'll see you in the spring

Cheers Johnny Wild Dog
