Andrew took this video walking through these lovely cattle back on 9th December. They have grown more since then and look great now. 24 yearling cattle - 9 heifers and 15 steers. They are being sold at Euroa Cattle Sale tomorrow. Such lovely quiet cattle.

So, after months of deliberation, we have made the really difficult decision to sell the rest of our cattle. I'm now retired, although I'll believe it when I see it!! There is a lot of sadness, but we both feel that it is the right decision. We did not rejoin our cows after calving so this idea of winding down has been brewing for a while.
The agent has been out, and we start this Tuesday at Shepparton Cattle Sales with the 8 vealers - lovely quiet young calves (August 2025) with possibly the two best plum BW heifers we have ever bred. There are 4 steers and 4 heifers. They could be registered as B grade, but are not currently registered. All the calves are by Vale Hill Farm Nugget and the mother cows are mostly by Ravenswood Performer or Kayana. Surprisingly, I cannot find any recent photos - the photos below were taken late September/early October.

We have been incredibly fortunate in the Longwood fires, and the Strathbogie tableland has so far been spared. Our very good friends in Ruffy have sadly not been so fortunate and have lost the house they built 36 years ago and all their country has been burnt. Devastating for them and for so many others going through similar in the district. The photo below shows Justus with a few of his young cattle.
They have British White cattle and now need to sell some cows (13) heavily in calf to Vale Hill Farm Nugget.
The cows are by either Ravenswood Performer or Ravenswood Kayana. They also need agistment.

Archie has found a home.
Kelpie dog (Glenville blood), 11 months.
Was purchased by our daughter as a pet, but Archie just wants to be a working dog. We only have cattle and he would be wasted. Our daughter had him desexed.
He is a lovely soft dog who is very keen. He has only just been started, and has spent 5 weeks with a trainer and is going really well.

My mums place is for sale in Eden Park, near Whittlesea. It is a lovely house and property, convenient to Melbourne. She used to run 20 plus cows and calves on the place, and then more recently she would finish steers, which on two occasions topped Euroa cattle sale. Please share with your networks!

It has been a long hard winter and we are still feeding daily. It was a cold frosty start this morning, but now a stunning day. And this is our first calf for the season. A lovely strong heifer.
