Dúghall Cluaran of Cademuir

Age 9 months: enjoying the freedom of a bigger paddock.

Waiting for drier weather as the paddocks are so super saturated it’s like skating in the mud. Not ideal conditions for halter training…

Day 3 of Life: this little pocket rocket is keeping his Dam Ida of Leyburn on her hooves 😆 He’s very busy for a nearly minted calf.

Finella Ròs of Cademuir

Day 1 of life: wandering in the new paddock closely watched by Dam Becca Butcher of Bairnsley.

🌹Finella🌹 born on a wet & muddy winters day….

Reg pending: Finnoghal Ròs of Cademuir

Sire: Dubh Gilleasbaig of Mostyn

Dam: Becca Butcher of Bairnsley

Dubh the Bull wandered over to inspect the skid steer mechanics like he was the site supervisor.

He stood there silently for a minute, staring at the engine bay.

One mechanic whispered, “Do you think he knows anything about hydraulics?”

Dubh snorted, flicked his tail, and gave them a look that clearly said:

“Mate, I’ve been running four-wheel drive and all-terrain suspension since birth. You’re the ones who need training.”

After another long inspection, Dubh nodded once and walked off.

The mechanics immediately agreed:

“Right then… passed inspection.”

Dubh’s invoice arrived later that afternoon:

* One bale of hay
* Unlimited scratches behind the ears
* Consultation fee: 3 apples

Dubh sounds like the kind of foreman who doesn’t say much—but when he does, everyone suddenly checks whether they’ve tightened the bolts properly. 🐂🔧

Finn seems to be doing well. Very bright and alert. Ida has decided the new hay bale is a perfect place to hide him 😆

Been a busy day on the farm!!

For those following the new road has been built so that vehicles, machinery & stock can cross over the dry creek safely from the Feed shed paddock.

The rock returns where the pipe (under the road) juts out on either end is still being built. Once all the rock return is placed we’ll mortar it with cement. The creek bed will be relined with rock for a solid base.

Plus we’ve done more lantana clearing to stop it encroaching on the new paddock.
