The Egg Show is fast approaching!

We are so excited to hold this event this Saturday, the 29th of August. Entries have been rolling in but we want yours!

Do you think your eggs have what it takes to win the $200 best eggs prize?

We also have a fertile egg auction section, with several dozen already locked in, especially thanks to our silkie breeders!

Alongside this, we’re also eggstatic to be holding an art section this year 🎨

Entries close tomorrow night for our eggstravaganza! So get them in while you can.

🥚 Egg exhibition and Judge training 📗 🥚

With our Egg show fast approaching we are super excited to announce that Megg Miller will be delivering a talk on Egg showing and judging.

This will be a great opportunity for aspiring judges to gain hands on experience and knowledge from a leading Egg judge.

Egg judge training is a rare opportunity in WA and we really encourage people to be there.

The session is planned to begin at 2.30pm at our egg show on the 29th August.

If you haven’t got your entries in for the egg show, there’s still time, entries close next Wednesday on the 26th.

Midland Poultry Society are thrilled to announce that the iconic egg judge and poultry enthusiast Megg Miller OAM will be joining us for the Midland Junction Poultry Society Egg Show on 29 August at Brock Pavilion, Brown Park Oval, Swan View.

Megg is a well-known within the poultry community and brings decades of experience. Beyond judging various poultry species—from turkeys to guinea fowl—Megg has developed considerable eggs-pertise in egg assessment. She firmly believes that "an egg is not just an egg" and can even assess flock health, stress levels, and hydration just by examining eggshell texture and quality.

If you’ve ever wanted to know anything about eggs, this is one of your only opportunities to ask and learn from the best. We are so honored to have Megg joining us. WA is truly lucky to host a judge with her unmatched level of eggs-perience and eggs-pertise

Alongside our official egg classes judged by Megg, the show will celebrate all things egg-related with egg-themed art, craft, and photography displays.

We’re eggs-cited to lay out a cracking good competition, and whether you're a seasoned exhibitor or an eggs-traordinarily passionate backyard chicken keeper, this is an event you simply cackle-not afford to miss.

We’re working hard boiled behind the scenes to make sure everything is egg-ceptional, so keep your eyes peeled and watch this space—the official show schedule and further announcements will be popping out of the shell very shortly!

What are your plans this Sunday?
We’ll be at the Gidge Small farm field day in the poultry pavilion with the awesome people from the Silkie Club of Western Australia taking all things poultry!
There’ll be plenty of birds on display and some for sale 🦆
We can’t wait to see you there!

The 2026 Gidgegannup Small Farm Field Day is on this Sunday!

Celebrating the rich rural industry in the Perth Hills, this event brings together farmers, producers, and the local community showcasing sustainable practices, local produce, and the people behind it all.

There will be lots of fun for the whole family including:

Well our 2026 AGM is done and dusted!

Firstly I would like to thank our outgoing committee for their work over the past 12 months.

I especially extend my sincere thanks to Noelene Teague as she steps back from her tireless efforts as Secretary, a position she had held for an astounding 26 years. Her efforts in maintaining the club are deeply appreciated.

I’d also like to thank everyone for such a great attendance tonight!
