My fridge was becoming a bit chaotic week to week 🙊

I had my fridge storage containers from which are amazing for keeping produce fresh (they currently have a huge EOFY Sale on)

But the rest of my fridge was a mess tbh, I’d try to organise it but it always just ended up the same by the end of the week

So it was time for a refresh and to make it more organised not just to look pretty but to be more practical & help me keep on top of what I have

And it’s worked so very well & I can see where everything is so much easier

And one thing I highly recommend is to get see through containers like mine because if you are anything like me, if you can’t see it, it’s forgotten about 🫣

The containers I am using here are all from and are:

🤎 Clear Fridge Egg Organiser Tray
🤎 Fridge Organiser with Drainage Plug (for fruit and veg)
🤎 Fridge Organiser Set (for fruit & veg)
🤎 Rotating Lazy Susan
🤎 Clear Modular Drawer Organiser
🤎 Clear Modular Drawer Organiser
🤎 Under Shelf Fridge Clip-on Drawer

If you are eyeing anything off they currently have a HUGE EOFY Sale on 😍😍

And if you need any help just reach out

You know when you buy a block of Parmigiano or Parmesan and there is that rind on one end?

Yea please don’t throw that out 🙅‍♀️

That is pure gold for cooking especially in winter for all your soups, stews, sauces etc

It is the simplest way to add flavour to your dishes and it really does 😋

But it is also saves it just ending up in the bin too

Oh and best part you can save them in the freezer too so no need to worry about it going off if you aren’t using it right away 🙌

And btw you can usually get Parmigiano Block in italian supermarkets, fruit shops, some big supermarkets stock them now too but the best ones usually come from the Italian supermarkets, delis or your fruit shop

Or some fruit shops even sell the rinds buy themselves so you can get a whole pack

Just add into your dishes as your cooking it and then remove it once its cooked

Save this tip for the next time you are cooking a soup, stew or sauce so you can come back to it

And next time you buy that delicious cheese keep the rind 🥰

These are the perfect thing to make on this weekend

Homemade chicken dumplings that immediately replaced my frozen ones I usually buy 🙊

They are delicious, easy to make and I freeze a bunch in small batches so that I can have them whenever I want them 😍

These are why I am not buying frozen ones anymore because I love my homemade version even better!

Comment “CHICDUMPLING” & I will send you the full recipe 😍

They are not complicated to make at all so don’t stress thinking you can’t make them at home yourself, you definitely can

The only thing that takes a bit of time is actually putting the filling and folding, not because its hard, they just make quite a few so it takes a minute, so it’s why it’s the perfect weekend cooking activity

Pop on your fav tv show, a podcast or rope in some helpers to make them and enjoy putting them together

This is definitely one you want to save to make & come back to

Do you get bored of breakfast options sometimes too?

I don’t have time to be cooking something fancy each day, it needs to be quick enough to whip up & eat, but also keep me full and taste good

Just a few requirements 😅🙈

So I made this toast the other day which was absolutely delicious especially after a run & it’s so quick to put together

We can still eat delicious food that is east to make. So save this one to make when you can’t think of what to make for breakfast

All you need is:
🍅 1-2 pieces of bread I use my homemade sourdough but your fav is fine. I do 1 piece with fruit on the side & coffee but you can do 2 for more food
🍅 1 tomato sliced
🍅 A small handful of spinach leaves
🍅 About 40-50g Ricotta per slice but add as much as you like
🍅 Salt & Pepper
🍅 optional top with balsamic, lemon or olive oil

🍅 Toast your bread, mine was fresh baked bread so I left fresh but usually I would toast it. Spread your ricotta, add tomatoes, salt & pepper & spinach and top with balsamic if you like. Simple and delicious

The fridge organiserr containers my tomatoes are in, the wood fiber chopping board (which I’m in love with) and the beautiful salt & pepper shakers are all from and they currently have a huge up to 70% of EOFY Sale on!

I use all 3 of these daily in my house and absolutely love them! I still have the same fridge organisers I purchased back in 2023 and they are still as good as the day I got them 😍

Chopping board & salt and pepper shakers were kindly but I am also going to stock up on more of the chopping boards for my mums house because I no longer want to use any others it’s incredible

When we here storage or fridge containers we sometimes just think its for the aesthetic looking fridge

But for me it’s so much more than that, I mean the containers are beautiful 😍

Which btw they currently have a huge EOFY sale with up to 70% off storewide

But I don’t just use my containers for aesthetics, I use them because they are practical & actually save me money

They keep my produce fresh all week and into the next week

Which is why as soon as I get home and finish the grocery haul I always put all my produce that goes in the fridge into the containers

Because plastic sweats in the fridge and is why sometimes you might end up with a bag of gross wilted spinach in the back of the fridge 🫣

It keeps your capsicum, tomatoes, cucumbers etc crispy because noone wants to eat mushy cucumbers or tomatoes

I have a mix of the:
🤎 Fridge organiser with drainage plugs
🤎 Fridge organiser set of 3
🤎 Glass food storage
🤎 Pickle Jars

I have been using my original containers I purchased back in 2023 every week and they are still perfect 👌

I love them so much

And its simple to make you don’t need to be a pro baker to make this its simple ingredients and simple instructions

You can use a stand mixer or handheld mixer, whatever you have is perfect. I use both I whisk the eggs & sugar with my stand mixer & then whip the cream with my handheld. But you can use either of them you don’t need both

This is the simplest way to take your toasted sandwiches to the next level, it’s soooo delicious 😋

I love to use Parmigiano, but you can use Parmesan Cheese, Pecorino even cheddar will work perfectly

But here is my top tip for doing it right so it doesn’t burn

Don’t add the cheese on the outside right away, cook your toasty a little bit first

This way the bread starts to brown up & the cheese inside starts to melt & then we add the cheese towards the end

It doesn’t need much time to go golden on the outside and we want it golden not burnt 🥵

I also cook mine in a frypan on a lower heat so again we melt our cheese without burning the bread, I cook for a few mins on one side flip it, add my cheese to the top so it starts melting as the other side cooks, then flip again add the cheese to the other side & flip just for about 20-30 seconds to melt that cheese

This way its golden & delicious 👌👌

Perfect with a Toasted Christmas Ham & Cheese Sandwich 😋

Baking Basics Episode 2: Bicarb soda and baking powder might seem the same, but they are a bit different

The other day I mentioned I was filming a reel about the difference and suddenly everyone in the salon stopped and said, “Wait… what is the difference?” 😂

So if you’ve ever wondered the same thing, you’re definitely not alone, it’s actually a super common question, because honestly, it’s confusing!

So here it is like I explained in the reel

👩‍🍳 Both are raising agents you need to make your baked goodies rise in the oven, like cupcakes, cookies, muffins, cakes, banana breads etc
👩‍🍳 Bi-Carbonated Soda is a raising agent on it’s own, it needs acidity to activate which if you have ever used bi-carb and vinegar to clean you have seen the bubbles. Acidic ingredients are buttermilk, sour cream, yoghurt, lemon or orange juice, vinegars, even brown sugar is acidic, also cocoa powders (not all though). There is loads of ingredients that are acidic not just the usual vinegars
👩‍🍳 Baking Powder already has acidity added in so it’s used when we don’t have acidic ingredients like maybe a butter cake etc.

But I don’t love baking powder even the aluminum free ones they taste funny to me so I only use it when I need and I don’t use too much but that’s just me heaps of people eat it and it’s fine

And yes there is food safe aluminum used in some baking powders I’ll upload a reel explaining it tomorrow 🙊

This is why I’m creating this Baking Basics series. Sometimes we don’t know because nobody ever taught us, and that’s okay.

I hope that helps and save this for next time you are baking

what is the difference between bi-carb soda and baking powder
