🏰💕 OKAY… I NEED YOUR HONEST OPINIONS ON THIS ONE! 💕🏰

When I was asked if I could make this princess castle cake, I’ll admit I was nervous 😂

I had NEVER made anything like this before, so I offered this cake at a heavily discounted price of $180 on the understanding that this was a trial for me and something completely outside my comfort zone.

And OMG… I underestimated this cake 😂😭

This was HARD.

7” 2-layer bottom tier
5” 2-layer middle tier
4” 4-layer top tier
PLUS all of those little castle towers individually built and decorated 🫠🏰

There were multiple times while making it where I genuinely questioned what I had gotten myself into 😂

When I finally finished it, I stood there looking at every tiny thing I could have done differently. I was SO nervous to show my customer because, being the person who made it, all I could see were the imperfections.

But… SHE LOVED IT 🥹💕

And that made me realise that sometimes we really are our own worst critics.

Is it perfect? No.
Did I learn A LOT making it? Absolutely.
Am I proud that I challenged myself and actually pulled off my first ever castle cake? I think I should be. 🥹🏰

💕🍰 FOR ALL MY NEW FOLLOWERS... HI! 🍰💕

I've noticed quite a few new faces around here lately, so I thought it was time to properly introduce myself! 🥰

I'm Tamika, the owner, baker, decorator, message-answerer, shopper, cleaner and everything-in-between behind Gemini Bites 😂🎂

The name Gemini Bites came from, you guessed it... being a Gemini ♊️ And what started as my little cake business has now been part of my life for over 5 years!
I'm also a wife, now officially Mrs Martin 💍, and a mum to my beautiful little girl Valerie. Gemini Bites isn't some big company with a team behind it. It's quite literally me, in my kitchen, creating your orders one by one. 💕

I make custom cakes, cupcakes, bento cakes, grazing boxes, grazing tables and sweet treats for birthdays, baby showers, weddings, anniversaries and pretty much any excuse we can find to eat cake. 😂

One thing that's always been really important to me is keeping my prices affordable. I know how expensive life is, and I genuinely believe you shouldn't have to spend an absolute fortune to give someone a beautiful cake for their special day.

Affordable doesn't mean I don't care about what leaves my kitchen. Quite the opposite. I put so much love into every order, and there is NOTHING better than receiving a photo afterwards of someone's face lighting up when they see their cake. 🥹🎂

I also absolutely love giving back where I can, whether that's supporting fundraisers, donating goodies or helping community causes. 💜

I'm still learning, still growing and definitely still occasionally covered head-to-toe in buttercream 😂, but I'm incredibly grateful that people continue to trust me with some of the biggest moments in their lives.
