It all started with a phone call from CommBank, and my first reaction was: “Craaap! Something must be wrong with my account!”
So when the person on the other end told me they were calling to say I had won their Backing Business competition, I honestly couldn't believe it. I think my first response was “you're kidding me”, followed by some very nervous laughter. It all felt very surreal.
Then the email came through confirming it was real, along with the details that the photo and video shoot would take place at the start of April.
A few weeks later, 12 people turned up in my living room and tiny kitchen, which was once again pushed to its limits. Furniture was moved around, yellow pops of color appeared everywhere, and my home briefly turned into a film set. To this day, I'm still not entirely sure how we all fit 😅
Then came the knock on the door, and Adam arrived. I was incredibly nervous and could hardly believe he was actually standing in my kitchen. Thankfully, the nerves disappeared pretty quickly once we started talking about pastries.
We had a great chat, made choux pastry together, and the whole team got to try the pastries I had prepared. They also left with boxes of treats because nobody leaves my house empty-handed 😉
A big thank you to and for such a special experience. It still feels a bit surreal looking back at the photos!
And those yellow pops of color? They've found a permanent spot in my home as a little souvenir of that very unexpected afternoon.
