The classic boilermaker — elevated. 🥃🍺
For anyone new to it, a boilermaker is the simple but timeless pairing of a beer and a whisky. Traditionally it’s a shot dropped into a beer, but these days it’s more about the side-by-side experience — sip the beer, sip the whisky, let them play off each other.
Here’s what’s in the glass:
Beer: Dirt Church NEIPA (Mountain Culture)
Hazy, juicy, and soft. Big tropical notes — mango, pineapple, stone fruit — with that creamy NEIPA mouthfeel. Low bitterness, pillowy texture, and a smooth, citrusy finish.
Whisky: (Blanton’s Gold Single Barrel)
Rich caramel and vanilla up front. Honeyed sweetness, a touch of baking spice, and that classic single barrel depth. Medium-bodied with a warm, lingering oak finish.
Together — the boilermaker experience:
The juicy tropical haze lifts the bourbon’s sweetness and softens the oak spice. The carbonation cuts through the richness, making the next sip of whisky feel brighter and more expressive. Meanwhile, the bourbon adds structure and warmth to the beer, pulling out subtle toffee and citrus peel notes you might miss on its own.
It’s contrast and harmony in one sitting — creamy haze meets polished Kentucky oak.
Not a shot. Not a chaser.
A conversation in liquid form.
