Did you know that Dredging Solutions can run geotextile dewatering bag/geobag trials for your site. If you’ve considered using dewatering bags, but you were unsure if they were right for your application, Dredging Solutions GeoFlow™ bag trial is perfect for you.
Using a small-scale GeoFlow™ setup, the process allows us to dewater a representative amount of your chemically conditioned wastewater (treated with polymer) on site, giving you in-field quantitative and qualitative data.

Among the outcomes of the trial, you can expect:
i. Clear visual demonstration of liquid and solids separation, with the solids being contained within the bag and liquid escaping as filtrate.
ii. Clarity/TSS of filtrate can be examined and determination of the efficacy of the chemical conditioning (polymer dosing) can be assessed, and where required, altered and/or adjusted.
iii. The percent solids can be assessed at varying stages of the dewatering process, and further assessment can be made over time during ongoing consolidation.

During a recent trial at a water treatment plant, we demonstrated the effective dewatering capabilities of our GeoFlow™ tubes, and the importance of polymer dosing in their performance. This can be seen in the second photo:

- The left jar contains the representative wastewater from the sites process to be used for the trial.
- The middle jar contains the filtrate captured leaving a GeoFlow™ bag that had been filled with inadequately conditioned/treated wastewater.
- The right jar contains the filtrate captured leaving a GeoFlow™ bag that had been filled with correctly conditioned/treated wastewater.

GeoFlow™ tubes are a simple, cost-effective method of separating solids from your wastewater. The GeoFlow™ tubes can vary in size to accommodate for your needs, ranging anywhere from IBC size, up to 36m circumference by 30m length, and beyond. If your wastewater is not yet chemically conditioned, Dredging Solutions can also assist in testing to identifying a suitable polymer.
