I moved to Australia when I was 7, I remember going to a distant family members house and having proper fresh seafood for the first time.
Fresh prawns DOUSED in cocktail sauce (mayo & tom sauce)
Marinated octopus (mega standout)
And oyster Kilpatrick
I was like a kid in a candy store!
Every time we had seafood, fresh prawns and cocktail sauce was my go to, my dad taught me how to peal the prawns properly (cbf peeling today though xx) and how to squeeze the tail meat out so I wasnāt leaving any behind.
People often ask me if there is anything I donāt like. And the honest truth is no, there isnāt haha. I used to dislike olives growing up but Iāve worked on that and now I donāt mind them! Of course thereās things I love more than others but there isnāt a food I would say I āhateā or āwouldnāt eat/tryā
Itās crazy to reflect on my younger years and my relationship with food and it all just make soooo much sense as the years go on.
God how good is food. A good mouthful has the same power as laughing, loving, dancing, singingā¦monumental fleeting moments that become incredibly hard to forget because they just feel so damn good.
Food is that bitch yk.
